I've got a problem with my version of Mozilla Firefox, even though it may be just the computer itself but it only seems to happen when Firefox is in use.
My Firefox browser version is 2.0.0.17.
And it's running on Windows XP.
The problem is, it freezes when entering pages IF there's a lot of animation, multimedia or I clicked a link too fast.
It was worse when Firefox version 3 was in the computer.
Anyone know why this would be happening?

It might be your computer. How old is it?

I think a 2 or 3 but it's had to be completely wiped out like 3 times because Trojans got in.

Hm... well unless the Trojans did some permanent damage I don't really see much of a problem. I use my desktop that's about the same age as your computer, that runs Windows XP and has the latest Firefox version and it works just fine with the exception that sometimes it can be a bit on the slow side.

All it's doing in freezing when I go on some pages (mostly here on Gaia). I think I'll stay of ff on the desktop and just continue to use ie until it's resolved.
Maybe there's too much crap on this computer....

That's another possibility. Right now Gaia is really slow for me, but nothing else is. If that's the same problem that you're having, I blame Gaia.

No, cuz it freezes everywhere else too. sweatdrop
and Gaia is slow on IE for me right now but, that's because this computer sucks.

Is that how many MBs of RAM you've got? Because if it's GBs Not only would I want that RAM, but I wouldn't see a problem there either.

Yeah that could be partially the problem. Maybe the problem period. I think my laptop and desktop have at least 1 GB of RAM and everything works fine. Try to invest in some RAM and see what happens.

We got too many bills (and rent) to pay each month so investing in more RAM is a luxury for my family right now. sweatdrop
We're attempting to support my family (me, little sister, mom and dad), my older brother and his wife and son (his wife works) and my 'uncle' who also works.
Keeping food here is also a bit hard. sweatdrop But we also need to constantlyu get food for the cats, dogs and lizard so again, RAM and other personal wants is a luxury. ^^; -ignore the sob story that may end up developing ><-
