The leaves are changing colors on the trees around the house, and the wind is beginning to pick up. The very air feels different, that eerie sensation that makes the hair on the back of your neck stand up has returned. Fall has come. The weather has changed and at night in the distance the glow of jack-o-lanterns can be seen coming from town. Halloween is just on the horizon for the inhabitants of this place.

A black figure hangs from the bottom of a high tree branch near the house. His talons dug into the wood, holding him aloft like some sort of awful bat.
Crix took a deep breath.
"Ahh, gotta love October. Probably my favorite month."
"Mine too!" Came a cackling voice from his own throat.
Crix and Nexus had stayed in this symbiotic state for a while now, and were getting more comfortable with one another (or so it would seem)
"Any plans for Halloween yet?"
Cryx smirked. "A few. We will make sure our friends have a...Happy Halloween."
With that he closed his eyes and resumed being dark and brutal, taking a nap while hanging from a tree.

The pile of leaves lay still a moment, before what looked like a jagged black spear flew through the air and impaled the tree inches from Desi's head. Crix rose from the leaves with a grim look in his eye.
"I was sleeping." The weapon seemed to melt into the tree, leaving a black area of corruption as Crix popped his neck. "So where is everyone? Its been so quiet around here...for a while I thought I was going crazy." He gave the house a look and then leaned against the tree, stomping on the leaves a bit with taloned feet. "Just me and that damn insect running around here...I don't know if you've ever bumped into him in a hallway at night when your just trying to go to the bathroom but trust me, its creepy."

A figure walked down the pathway towards the main house. She caught movement off the side and went to investigate. She couldn't help the crunching of dead leaves that had started to cover the grounds. It took a moment to recognize that the two figures ahead of her were only Desi and Crix.
Approaching the two she pulled down the hood of her cloak and shook out her long blond hair.
"Sup?" she waved at the two from a small distance, a cig dangling from her lips.

The pattern of the bark on the tree behind Desi shifted a bit and then with his usual clicking Adam uncloaked himself.
"Crix is a suitable house mate, though stalking him throughout the grounds only amuses us so much. We have missed everyone." The usual smile was in place as he nodded politely at Desi.
"Good to see my mammalian rival is back. Perhaps one day we should go for a hunt. Much that can be learned of other species you know." He then idly started prodding at leaves on the tree with his tail. "We are impressed by this season."

"Who knows?" Desi says smiling, turning to Adam she smiles, "Sounds like fun, this kitty cat can always go for a hunt, I love fall for the colors, its helps to blend, Hey em," she says raising a hand caught somewhere between a paw and a human hand, "I was just going to investigate the house to see where everyone else is, none of you have happened to see Luna running around have you? I've missed her terribly."

Moves with a grace and steadiness. She's been off training, in dance of all things during the summer. Adding a grace and stillness to the normally hyper girl.
Who still porked on cake. As the crumbs around her mouth testified.
Licking her fingers and humming to herself. Glad to be home.

Crix smiles seeing everyone seeming to get together again.
"Gooood, Halloween wouldn't be any fun without people to mess with right?"
"Too true you b*****d." Crix whispered, already planning for all hallows eve. Noticing Desi and Em wandering off to the house he turned to the creepy bug.
"Adam, I think you should come with me, I can show you how to carve a proper pumpkin and we can talk about the spirit of Halloween." He beckons the bug to follow as complicated black carving knives formed themselves from his hands.

Adam buzzed with excitement and scuttled along on the ground next to Crix.
"We have waited eagerly for this holiday. You must show us the ways of this Halloween." His smiling maw widened. "From the look on your face we assume you are planning something. From what we understand of Halloween traditions, we would like to be a part of it. Surely our talents can be of some help?"
