I'll give it a try.

*~*Gallery of Heroes*~*
High above the cities of the lands, a top the highest mountain of the world, a castle stood. No, wait, a museum...more or less; pictures are held. Framed, nicely taken pictures of heroes. Only the most amazing of heroes though, known to all of mankind. No one owned the castle. Once someone had earned the title of Renowned Hero, they had earned the rightful offer to being in a picture and remembered by all in the world. These pictures were said to be everlasting and to be invulnerable to any harm. And, when one looks deeply into the picture, it is said they could see the life of the hero flash through their eyes and the amazement of their powers and accomplishments could be seen. How so? That's a silly question. Everyone knows camera's take a portion of a person's soul with their image. xp
But that is only part of our story.
Now, for years, in the clerical department of magic and science, white mages, medics, priests, pallids, shamans, spiritual workers and clerics of all kinds from all over the world have been working on the greatest ability a cleric can use: Resurrection. Recently, they've succeeded. They've discovered a great procedure and gathered specimens to experiment it right away. Not long after, they recruited bounty hunters to eliminate the specimens. You see, the procedure required a spirit, or as one can call a "ghost", a mysterious crystal they call AC, and a body or what they call "substance". It was not hard to find specimens, what ghost did not want to be alive again? So a spiritual dealer would call upon ghosts and hand them once of these ACs. With it, the ghost would be able to cast Resurrection for itself, on the body, or whatever it is that had substance but no spirit and merge to make a "living being" once again.
Unfortunately, the spirits got smart and realized they could extract themself from the body and enter other bodies without spirits in them...or just any substance that they can merge with to bring back to life again. Fortunately, it wasn't too late before the Clerical Department realized what their specimens were up to as they kept a close watch on them to look for any defects. They quickly hired Bounty Hunters to find these spirits, kill them...once again, extract the crystal from their body and destroy the crystal. But as time went by, it become more and more difficult. The spirits realized they didn't have to just take any body. Or maybe not a body at all...so one night, on a planned the attack. All at once, they stormed the castle high above where the Bounty Hunters would search for them and merge their spirits with the powers of the heroes and even turned the picture of the hero into their physical body.
Fortunately, before they could cause any harm to the world, the castle had been locked up so none could escape, only hunters could enter. But the spirits now had bodies, but more importantly, powers, powers that are not theirs that could easily free themself from the siege and defeat any normal hunter that tried to cease them. But what kept them from leaving the castle? Maybe something was inside the castle they were searching for? Or maybe they were having a happy party. Whatever it was, it didn't look good. You see, the clerical facility had begun growing impatient. They called upon the professionals.
Dealers of death. Death gods some might even called them. They were spirits, but their duty was to help guide spirits that were "out of place". Shinigamis they were called. Usually Shinigamis would not work for mortals, they weren't supposed to, they were supposed to find ghosts wandering around pointlessly and place them in heaven or hell. But after the great decree was made by the many worried rulers of the world, they negotiated, and the Lord of Death, some call the Lord Grim, sent the shinigamis into the physical world and release those spirits.
That's just a little bit of it. It was too long and no one likes long intros so no one joined. Lack of players, lack of activity, roleplay dies.
