I don't have it yet but my fingers lock up from an old injury. It's very likely I'll develop it in a few years.

I don't have it yet, I do, however, get pains in my wrists after playing sometimes. Part of it is from all the typing I used to do/sometimes still do for really long periods of time.

Aparently it's an epidemic amoung artists as well.
I'm bound to get it sometime. (Playing the flute, keyboard, drawing, computer, video games, yup...) gonk

I don't have it yet, but my right pinky finger locks up occasionally, and I have to pop it. It's not fun. crying

My right pinky does the same. I constantly bend my pinky around all the time now. It's become a very bad habbit of mine.

Ah thank God I'm not the only one :'D My flute teacher said I could get it because of the way I bend my wrist when holding the flute.

I've been trying to fix it but its just so hard to keep the darn wrist straight and not drop my flute D:

No, not yet, thank goodness. I don't really bend my wrist at all when I play. Instead, my left index finger bends backwards until the knuckle is almost at a right angle. I can't practice all at once for very long without being in serious pain though.

I don't have it, but I did recently have to stop playing for a while after I strained the muscles in my arms by practicing for too long. sad

I don't have it and never have any problems playing for long periods of time O.o

Most of the people here sound like they're way too stressful when they're holding their flute. just relax.

Also, check the positioning of your thumbs.... they shouldn't be too far forward.. for your right hand... hold your hand like you're holding a cup... act like you're dumping a cup over... and then place the hand like that exactly on the flute.

Just don't grip too tightly. The flute's not going anywhere. Also, if you put your fingers too high, that'll strain as well. Try to keep your fingers closer to the keys... this will also allow you to play faster.

People usually get CT in their right wrists though. they bend the right wrist too much while playing. but do the cup trick and it should help. A few students of mine had the same problem, but they do the cup thing every time I remind them and it's working very well.
