For those of you who use Tarot: Which deck do you have? Why did you get it? Why do you love it?
I have the Thoth deck. Honestly, the name Aleister Crowley on the front got my attention; however, it is the beauty that drew me in. The pictures seem very chaotic and from the realm of mind, so I could identify with many of the images right away. Also, he uses so many symbols, most of which I have yet to research, but it feels like it was well thought out. I love it now because, as 'coincidence' would have it, Thoth is now my patron deity, and I like to work in a little pre-drawing, ceremonious respect when I do a reading for myself. And also, the Art card. The image alone on the card changed my life.

Though mine aren't technically tarot cards, they were in that section of the bookstore. They are divination cards - the deck is called The Hidden Path. I have to say, while looking at cards I was stuck between one called Fairy something (because I love Fairies) and this one. It just called to me. The artwork looked great, and the theme seemed neat. It's all about pagan traditions. Every card has something to do with some pagan tradition, including the seasons, sabbats, equinoxes and solstices. I don't use them too much, but I still love them.

I have a couple of tarot decks I use frequently. The Spirit Tarot was my first deck and reads well for me, especially in areas of my spirtual development. I have a Witches Tarot that kind of jumped off the shelf at me one day, it was in a local metaphysical shop as a display deck, and I don't know if someone with bad energy handled it just prior to us entering or what but that deck made it VERY clear that it wanted to come with me and get the heck out of there. I have a Spiral Tarot which I use when I read for others, and I have an Herbal Deck that is my newest addtion, I am still working with this one to figure out it's speciality. I have a bunch of others that I got mostly for the art.

I as well have the Thoth deck (as you know wink ).
At first (honestly) I noticed the 2 of Disks on the front and found the to be an excellent image for Balance. Secondly, remembering that a great deal of the art appealed to me. At first it was seeming that I was maintaining any accuracy and that there was almost "disagreement"? I think that may have been due to some situations at hand though, as I seem to be gaining a better foundry, accuracy, and sense of recognition the more I use it. So all and all, I believe it was something I had to warm up to.
Though I am pretty well set on the idea of runes, as they very much so intrigue me. 3nodding

I recently bought a beginner's tarot deck, but they are very small cards and I've only used them once. I'm finding it hard to find the meanings of the cards and to use this deck.

What sorts of problems are you having with the meanings? With that, what sort of spread did you use for your first attempt?
(p.s. I find it usually takes a little while to get in tune with your deck.)
