Caitlin is still stuck in the future. Specifically, the future from the second season after the virus is released and 93% of the population is dead. Did the writers forget about her? Are they hoping we'll forget too? After their little expedition into the future, Peter seemed extremely concerned for the rest of the season about destroying the virus and saving her. Then the season finale passed, the virus was destoyed and... no Caitlin. No mentioned of Caitlin. Nothing. Is she doomed to spend the rest of her days in the Realm of Forgotten Characters with Scrappy Doo, Nightcrawler, and Kong from Ghost of Mae Nak!? gonk
We haven't seen Caitlin, West, or Monica, and we've heard very little about Molly and Micah, and yet three brand new characters have been introduced, three have been brought back from the dead (or similar conditions), and four have gone through complete character upheavals!
Why? Why are they trying to pack so much plot into Heroes this season?

I still like this season a lot. But I had forgotten about Caitlin until you mentioned her. Peter really liked her so its weird that he seems to have forgotten about her too. Maybe they will show her again. I think it will be like that with all the other missing characters. Maybe they'll come up later.

I got the second season for my birthday, and proceeded to watch the whole thing. I really would like to know what happened to Caitlin. It seems as though she no lnoger exists. As for West, he's still in California. He's living a normal(cough) life. As for Monica, I have no idea. She's probably looking after Micah.

Nightcrawler had his own team called Excalibur, which was based in Europe. He actually has quite a big fanbase. But that's beside the point.
I think Caitlin is gone for good D=. No more bushy-brows for Peter. But don't worry. He has his hunger and the mass amounts of dead bodies to keep him warm at night. Seeing as the past future (Virus future) won't happen anymore, then the only way to get her back is to... go back in time, so that you can go into the future... wait... it makes no sense really D=.

I've been asking the same question. I will be really really disappointed in the show if they never offer any explanation. They built her up so much and peter was so in love with her he wanted todrop his whole past for her and whatnot.

I always wondered that...
I think she is stranded in an alternate universe that no longer exists. Which sucks. She needs to choose her boyfriends better next time.
And I was wondering about Monica as well! They can't just forget about her - what was the point of introducing her if they just not going to mention her in season 3 at all? And I miss Molly and Micah gonk Micah was my favourite character.

He's my favorite mutant from the comics. When Alan Cumming decided not to come back and endure endless hours in make-up being painted blue, he just... vanished. Not even a passing comment in X3 to acknowledge that he was a main character in the preceding movie. Too true. At any rate, Peter would just have to pull the "Stay away from me! I'm too dangerous!" thing if she did ever reappeared. An explanation would have been nice though.

If you play the X3 video game, you'll get your explanation as to why Nightcrawler doesn't come back in the third movie. Of course, that's only rumor.
About Caitlin, she's probably gone now. I mean, since the virus was never released, then many deaths reverted and the future is better. My theory is that she's back in Ireland, and forgot the whole thing. Haitian probably got to her, haha.
The New Orleans crew won't be touched too much on this volume. However, they're still there. We've already seen Micah, and he looks like he's coping.
However, I know where you guys are getting at. They have had a lot of great characters introduced and killed off and/or forgotten, but isn't it like the in comic books anyway? Plus, they can't really just stay with one group and focus on them. There needs to be flavor. Also, I suggest and recommend that you guys read the graphic novel on nbc.com. The stories there are pretty good too. 3nodding mrgreen

Curse you Alan Cummings!:3 I undersand the irrepressable need to nerd. I actually have heard the rumor that Naniwasaga mentioned. I was told that in the videogame he decides that the X-Men are "too violent" and goes back to Boston... Lame. I feel obligated to say something on topic, seeing as I started the topic... I understand that they need to keep the plot moving and add characters and whatnot, but I feel like they're not going about it quite right, like they're trying to do too much, too fast. Who am I to judge? What do I know? Nothing I guess. Maybe my brain is just too feeble to keep up.

yea, poor caitlin. being lost in the unreal future.
maybe she'll get that new formula thing in this season's future and develop the power to go back in time or something.
as for micah and molly.
if you haven't noticed, like the only time they had molly was in the future. and it is obvious that she has grown physically. it would make sence to see her in the future more grown up, but to have her in the past the same size wouldn't make sence.
i think this is why they only included micah for one episode.
and his voice changed.
i laughed when i heard him talk.

This segues nicely into another question I'd like to discuss: How is it that Hiro and Daphne (and co.) are fighting over the formula in the present if Mohinder is still developing said formula? Who's responsible for this paradox?

and i thought the point was that mohinder couldn't finish his formula until they got the orginal... weren't they two different formulas for two different things??

Those two pieces of the formula that daphne were the formula to give other people abilities...for it to work they need a catalyst...which in this is Claire.

The formula actually worked at one time, it's how Nathan got his ability to fly. Some Company members (Angela, Kaito, etc.) decided it was too dangerous and split it up. When they got the two parts of the formula in present day, it didn't work because there was no catalyst.
On topic, I think Caitlyn is back in Ireland, or she's dead in the future. There's no telling.
