I'm writing a Kirby fanfic, and I'm getting into my first ever fight scene. That I've ever writen. And I'm dreading that it will be an utter failure.
Any ideas, hints, or something like that you guys want to throw at me?

It's from my experience that fight scenes can take a very negative turn very quickly. Advice would be to first define what kind of fight you have and what type of piece you're writing - Kirby? Then I would assume that things would comic and avoiding gore - which makes it a bit easier.

Don't get to jackie chan or detail by detail. That drags the paragraphs on and ends up overly confusing and chunky. Use simplistic devises of "he countered" or words like "sidestepped" opposed to: "moving his left hand to catch Metaknight's blade three inches from his eye, kirby spun a 180 to face backwards before taking his feet to the adjacent wall and push off, crashing both warriors to the behind fire."

It really goes down to style though. Stay easy and comic.
