In my Sociology class, were talking about culture but not just any culture, good ol' 'American' culture and how it's always changing But one topic we ended up talking about for the whole 2 hours And that was the topic of language and slang.
We had to come up with a list of words that were currently 'in' and that we hear often
Here's a list that we came up with in class: dude, foo, hella, homie, bro, broski, broseph, burnt, whack, sketchy, shady, cutty, the box, vajayjay, cooch, brazy, brackin, double u tee eff and just the other day I heard someone say pwn and leet lul
I'm pretty sure that some of these are pretty old and outdated and then there are some that are pretty new and some I have never even heard before If you're curious on any of those words, I'll try my best to explain what they mean or where they came from lol
I actually use homeslice, broseph, shady, and cooch I'm sure there are others that I use but I'm just so used to hearing it that I don't think of them as being slang >.o
I was wondering what kind of slang is being used in your areas currently, if there are any others. What do you think about slang and do you use any?

Wow... Shady is considered slang? looooool To me that is dictionary with out the urban, foo'.
I say WTF all the time. xD; But that originally started from that flash vid "End of zeh world". I know I have plenty of slang but half of it I use jokingly. Burnt? Is there some new way to say it that I didn't know about or is burnt not truly a word. o _o;

We use shady for being fake or mean and yea it is pretty close to the dictionary meaning of being suspicious but I hear it all the time here when 2 years ago, I never even heard it in a convo
As for WTF, I actually say what the ******** and not double u tee eff lul I have a professor that spells out what she says all the time 'oh em gee, el oh el' @w@
I'm not sure what meanings of burnt you know, you probably know all of them already though; being tired/lazy, losing to someone, being high or having no money/job

I notice people have an addiction to the word 'Epic', and labeling anything even slightly amusing as 'epic'. Tell me, does waking up at 8 am to a bowl of cheerios compare equally to the ending of Julius Ceasar? Et tu, Brute'? See, THAT was epic, not your bowl of cheerios or your exit of the parking lot.
I've never heard broski or broseph out here. I just call people ******** and get to the point.

I say "double-u tee eff, mate!" a lot. Lol
I also go off on "lolling" sprees. "Lolololol!"
Along with hella, dude, rockin', sick, broskie, etc... I actually add the "-skie" suffix to half the nouns i say. Lol
"Dude we should go get a drinkskie at the store!"
"Man... i could really go for an In-N-Out burgskie!"

Vicewolf I notice people have an addiction to the word 'Epic', and labeling anything even slightly amusing as 'epic'. I've never heard broski or broseph out here. I just call people ******** and get to the point. I use 'epic' in those EXACT contexts. Lol
I love it though, cause it's so ridiculous. "******** dude! Look at that cat [who just caught that bird]!...... Epic..."
It makes everyone stop and think for a second lmfao... "epic?" And you just know they are really considering whether they think it is really epic to them or not.

Janky. It's an actual word meaning about the same as "ghetto-a**," but we use it more in our school and our theatre to refer to s**t that's old, messed up, never working, and fixed in retarded ways.

And sketch, as in shady. Epic is more of less same over here, but it went from never used, to ALWAYS ******** USED, and has become a more sacred word, those of us that respect it only use it in the most intense of situations.
Like pinning 50 bags filled with shaving cream to your friends tree in the middle of the night, having his dad walk out, hiding behind said tree only to have the father turn the water valve outside off and walk back in without him noticing you.
That would constitute a loose epic.

Me and my friends say epic, but really only as a joke. To say something is great I usually stick with awesome or badass. Um I say dude from time to time.. but more like when something happens and you're left awe stricken and the only thing you can muster to say is "... dude..." Another thing me and my friends say is "FACE!" mostly cause we find it funny but we do use it.
I can't think of too much slang we use actually, we stick to regular words I'd say. when displeased my friend Dee will say "Hate" and leave it at that. um.. I think that's pretty much all the slang we use. Besides slang, we just arrange words differntly or use more than one language in a sentence. We'll start with "What the what!?" and end up with "Nani the que!?"

If you consider "hate" as slang then Ristin and I use "Kill Babies" in that same sort f context. :3
