Kai Vale walks into The Game of Chance and looks around. The place isn't busy yet, too early in the morning. Most of the guys that are in her normally are at work, trying to make back what they had lost. Kai however wasn't planning on losing. He had six hundred credits and wanted to at least double that if not triple it within the hour. He walked up to a table. They were playing Against the House. Each of them would make a bet against the house, there was no limit on winners, nor losers. Kai liked playing the house at first, then he would pick a guy, or the guy would pick him, and they would play against one another. If Kai was lucky things would go his way and then the guy would get mad, not too mad where he pulls out a blaster but mad enough that he keeps gambling against Kai blindly until he lost all his credits and Kai had them all. Then with nothing to lose anymore the man either attacked Kai, hopefully not, Leave or bet something big, Kai really hoped for the third one but only time would tell.
"So how much you putting down?" The man dealing out everything asked.
"Hundred Credits." Kai said putting a hundred credits down.
"Okay, everyone ready?" The guy asked. Everyone nodded or gave a half hearted yeah. Then it began. In no time it was over but this was the time everyone waited for. Who won and who lose. As it started to slow Kai hoped he got lucky and as quickly as his hopes went up... His
Luck came crashing down. He has lost half of his stake. Sadden but not put off Kai bet again. This time only the fifty credits he didn't lose before. Again the man made sure everyones beats were ready then he did what he was paid to do. This time Kai's
Luck paid off, making him five times his stake. Kai gave a small smile as the man pushed over two hundred and fifty credits. Kai put one hundred and fifty in his pocket, giving him eight fifty in total in this pocket. With the other hundred credits Kai beat again. Kai watched as the man did his stuff. Kai's smile grow larger when his
luck paid off again, getting him five times his stake again, Five hundred credits made their way to Kai. He pocketed three hundred of it, giving him a total of eleven hundred and fifty credits, until he pulled out the fifty credits to give himself two hundred and fifty credits on the table. The man dealing with the game made sure everyone was ready then did his thing. All he had to do was take a ball, one for each person playing, and put it in a large wheel that was laying on it's back. He then span the wheel. Where ever your ball landed was your fate. With a little luck maybe you'd make it big. Kai hoped so. He watched as his ball slowed down. Kai's
Luck wouldn't stay with him and he lost his whole stake. All two hundred and fifty of it. Kai kicked himself, in his mind, for putting that extra fifty credits in there but brushed it away as fast as he could. He then placed a hundred credits on the table. He wouldn't let this effect him. One more go, lady luck would shine on him again, or at least he hoped. If not then he would leave with his ten thousand, at least he made more then he had when he first got to the table. As the ball rolled Kai couldn't watch if his luck had chanced for the better but his luck did. It only won him double his stake but it was better then losing it. Kai bet the two hundred credits, trying to make back the credits he had lost already. If he got five times his stake this time it would pay out and double what he already had. The man put Kai's ball in and rolled the wheel. Kai gave out a silent prayer to
Lady Luck, who did not answer his call. He lost half of his stake, leaving him a hundred credits on the table. Not giving up until the hundred credits was doubled or gone Kai beat again. This time his
luck better, much better, as Kai got five times his stake. He put three hundred in his pocket and put two hundred on the table. He had three thousand in his pocket a bit more then double what he had started with, but he wanted more and because he wasn't going to spend the amount in his pocket, plus that he didn't have this money at the start, he believed it was a win, win deal. As the man rolled again Kai's
luck crashed down, leaving him with a hundred credits on the table. Kai didn't care, we was going to double this hundred or lose it, either way he wasn't walking away until he had no credits on the table. Kai's
Luck would double his hundred credits. Now with two hundred credits on the table Kai bet again. He wanted so much out of life and knew without a little luck and a lot of Gabling he wouldn't get them. So he bet again and
Luck was on his side, giving him five times the credits he had on the table. He put seven hundred in his pocket and left three hundred on the table. He now had two thousand in his pocket. He had made his tripled amount he wanted but now he wanted to see how much more he could get. Kai's
Luck would get him double what he had on the table. Kai would put two hundred of that in his pocket and then put four hundred on the table. If he got five times this amount he wasn't sure what he would do but quiting did sound good, you know before his luck ran out. But Kai's
Luck would run out sooner and he would lose the whole stake. Kai wasn't mad or upset. He nodded to the man and turned to walk away with his two thousand, two hundred credits, when he saw a man, one that had seen him first. Kai was so busy gambling that he didn't notice this man come in. A big mistake on Kai's part. The Man was a Rodian, but he spoke Huttese all the time.
"Where is the credits you own me Twi'lek?" The Rodian said in Huttese. Kai noticed two more men. One to Kai's left, the other to Kai's right, but thugs working with the Rodian.
"I don't own you any credits." Kai said. "You lost to me fairly. Maybe next time you would gamble your credits away."
"Do not test me Twi'lek! I want my credits. Either give them to me now or I'll take them by force." The Rodian said still in Huttese.
"Then I guess your luck has just ran out." Kai said.
The Rodian said something in Rodese that Kai didn't understand but figured out quickly that he was telling his two friends, a human and a Kel Dor to grab their weapons and shot Kai. Kai wasting no time went for his blaster too.
The Rodian got a shot off first. His
Blaster Pistol missed Kai but only a few inches if that. Kai went to go fire at the Rodian, hoping that in defeating him the other two may leave, but before he could the Kel Dor took a shot with his
Blaster Pistol. He missed even more then the Rodian and even
Hit the human on the other side doing enough
damage to knock the human out cold, but not dead.
using this time right Kai attacked the Rodian. Though his shot wasn't perfect it still
hit the Rodian. The
Damage was enough to put the Rodian down and out cold just like the human. How all Kai had to worry about was the Kel Dor who was firing at him. This time Kai wasn't so lucky as the Kel Dor
hit him. Lucky for Kai however it only hit his left arm,
damaging it but not putting Kai out of the battle.
Kai fired back. He knew he had to hit the Kel Dor or he wasn't going to stand up to another attack from the Kel Dor.
Lucky for Kai, unlucky for the Kel Dor, Kai hit. The
damage was so great that it almost killed the Kel Dor, nut instead just knocked him out.
Winning the battle Kai smiled. He stood up the Rodian and won, hopefully that would be the end of things. But Kai doubted that. So to be safe Kai walked over to the Rodian's body and grabbed his blaster pistol, holster and credits then went to the human. He took the human's blaster pistol, holster and then credits too. Lastly he went to the Kel Dor and took his blaster pistol, holster and credits then left the Game of chance. He got
54 Credits off the Rodian's body,
83 credits from the Human and lastly
52 credits from the Kel Dor. He then sold the Blaster Pistols, without their power packs, for two hundred credits each. He also sold the holsters making only five credits each with them. But Credits were credits. Besides thats what you get when you resale to a
store owner. Now with his Three thousand and four credits, Kai went to his home, or what he called a home. Tomorrow he would go out and gamble again. Hopefully it would be a better day.
