Movie bosses at MTV have announced plans to remake cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show. The new film will use the original screenplay by Jim Sharman and Richard O'Brien and be overseen by Lou Adler - the executive producer on the 1975 hit, which starred Tim Curry and Susan Sarandon.
Although casting decisions have yet to be made, Adler hopes the picture will be ready in time for October 2009.

im curious to see how MTV is going to pull this off.

so theres going to be a remake....i hope they get good singers, i saw some of what was being done at halloween horror nights in orlando and i thought the singing wasnt as good as the original

just watched the original again and i was in conversation with my dearest husband when we discussed about if they go with a remake whom would be great to do what part :
Brad:Jude Law/ ewan mcgreggar (sp?)
Janet: ( not sure)
Frank N Furter : Antony Steward head ( he did it in the stage show why not as a remake!) /Marylin Manson
Riff: Alan rickman / Jhonny Depp
Magenta: Helena boham carter
Columbia: ( not decided yet)
Rocky sad not decided yet)
Dr Scott: Antony hopkins
Eddie: Jack Black
Narrator: patrick Stuart

After seeing Anthony Stewart Head's portrayal of the Repo Man in Repo! The Genetic Opera, that would be awesome to see him playing Frank.
Also, I could definitely see Jack Black as Eddie.

But Helena Bonham Carter is a good candidate for Magenta
Edit: OH YES! Jack Black as Eddie will be good!

Should be interesting. A lot of recent remakes have been pretty impressive, so I'm sure we're in for a show.

well, this is going to suck. but i swear. i will do whatever it takes to drag all of my friends to the premier in costume. DIBS ON COLUMBIA!! but no one can pull off flipping frank. god, i've only seen it 5 times, but i would be too used to it. helena bonham carter rox! i waz reel dumb when i saw it the first time, so i actually thought helena bonham carter WAS magenta!! this'll be great.
