Though I condemn the destruction humans cause, I do not condemn the humans as a whole. In fact, even knowing all the horrible things humans can and will do, I adore our species. Our species has the ability to create, and the ability to defy our own congenital programming. Other species WILL fight each other for resources, and they WILL destroy what is necessary to survive; but humans can reach beyond that to compassion, mercy, and sacrifice; they can create and empower; and they can die for something that is more significant than any carnal concept. So while I will never advocate the terrible things human beings do, especially to the earth that bore us, I cannot help but advocate their contribution to the world. Furthermore, if the earth, our mother, felt we overstayed our welcome, we would KNOW she was angry with us, and she would probably have reclaimed our bodies long ago. She has not lost faith in humans, and I trust whatever reason she may have. I am ashamed of many specific humans, but I am never ashamed to be one myself. Maybe it was mother who was first to understand what it meant to make sacrifices for beauty.
