I suppose if we're going to band together to try and initiate some change to our beloved Gaia, we should get to know each other a little :3
Well, I'm Kitty. I'm a recent college graduate with two really cool jobs that don't pay me ^^;; I've been a Gaia junkie since Feb 04. Since joining I've done pretty much everything. I've run RPGs, charities, auctions, an art shop, quests, etc. I got into Gaia after my best friend got into it after her brother got into it after blah blah blah. Since the day I registered I've loved Gaia with all my fangirly heart. At first, it was the perfect community where I could meet new people and role-play to my heart's content.
But alas! Gaia isn't what it used to be, and has become, to many of us, a capitalist monster clamoring for our money in exchange for shiny new pixels. As a person driven by a perpetual need to make things better, I stand with the rest you, filled with a passion to restore Gaia's community spirit!

Well put. I figure I'll introduce myself too. I'm lfinnl. You can refer to me as Finn. I'm basically a revolutionary by nature. The exact details of my life are incredibly boring and repetitive, only contributing to my revolutionary nature. I, too have been on gaia for multiple years. I've never bought anything from gaia, but it seems now that they're starting to shove it down our throats. I'm disgusted by the overuse of ads and promotions. Its getting downright ridiculous. I, too, stand with the rest of you filled with a passion to restore Gaia's community spirit.

This will be the second guild of this type I've joined. The more, the merrier, I suppose. xD
I'm Teekz, and if it isn't obvious already, I really don't like the path Gaia is taking.
I've breathed Gaian air since March 04 and really couldn't stay away from the site, despite a couple times where I said I'd quit.
While I do agree Gaia Staff need to be paid, I do not agree with the way they're trying to get money from us and how they're spending the money they have, especially now that we're living though a tough economy. I think if Gaia took the time to listen to it's users, they'll be a strong company running in the green, than the red they're in today.

I'm PrincessJuliaOfHeart. Call me whatever you want but Julia is good too because I'll probably respond.
I'm a Junior in high school and have been playing Gaia since I was in 7th grade in middle school(which means 4 years and since '04).
And I probably won't be as exciting as any of you because well...I never did that much on Gaia until about a year and a half ago.

Hi I'm Seika, well Stephanie. I got my user name from video game credits(Tales of Symphonia >.>) I live in AZ and I hate the cold. I think I joined in '04. I forget and I'm too lazy to check. I've never really used my actual money to play and I've quit like 5 times. >.> The thing with doing that is it makes it hard to get my stuff back crying I miss my hornsees(horns of the demon)

I guess I shall be the voice from the other side of the fence. I used to hand money to Gaia hand over fist for their shiny random item generators, and their EI's and this and that. I still buy every now and then but it is an EI here, a couple of MC's there.
I admit I have spent a goodly amount of money this month but 95% of it was towards MC's to show my support.
Anyways. That was to qualify that I learned my lesson about Gaia's money lust. haha.
I became active on Gaia last year though I made my account in 05. I remember being active when Gambino's Tower collapsed.
You can shorten my username however you would like. So long as it is apparent you are addressing me. I am not sure what it is I can do but I am here to help.

I'm in the middle; I used to donate when I had the money, and I felt good about doing it. Now, even if I had the money, I don't honestly think I could donate and not feel dirty xP
@Seika: I've never actually quit Gaia before xD I've had to take breaks for the sake of passing classes, but I've yet to quit. I've been pretty tempted though xD The MTV thing almost got me.

Hello. I'm FirePhoenix.
You can call me Fire, Phoenix, Phoe, or FP (for those who don't want to type out a lot. xD)
I'm a second year college student at the moment at a research university. (And I'm doing horribly this semester it's not even funny... but I'm trying to change that.)
I joined Gaia reluctantly through a friend who was trying to earn Gold through the 'Referral' system Gaia had back then. (Not sure if he's still alive or not...) Thought it was lame at first and was weird, haha.
Short history on Gaia, I started in the Chatterbox for a while, then made my way to the Mini Shops with my own shop, then to the Breedables/Changing Pets forums when it came to existence, to the R&C forum when it came to existence as well, and finally to the GCD.
Looking back and being rather wishful, I noticed how Gaia has change it's true 'core' and 'niche' has decayed over time.
My only hopes is that Gaia fixes it's identity crisis and it's rather over-commercialization problems.

Hi Phoenix!
I agree that Gaia's core has definitely decayed and is having an identity crisis. I mean, change isn't bad in general, but I think Gaia has really moved away from what it was. Hhopefully we can all pull our experiences together and get some working solutions that we can present to the Gaia staff :3

I am iThread, commonly known as "Gaia's Jack." He never changed his equipment on hi avi, but don't be fooled he is a horder. He really supports the idea that the Cash shop ruined Gaia, but some people take it too far. He just wans Gaia back to the way it really was.
