*for lack of better title*

This RP is loosely based off of the prose "Peter Pan" and other works by J.M. Barrie. However, this does not take place in the 20th century or before; that means, it's a modern RP, taking place in the year 2008.

{Rules:}

User Image You have to be a fairy to join this RP. The only human in this RP is Peter Pan, and he is already taken. You cannot be Tinkerbell, because she passed away at the end of Peter Pan.

User Image Fairies cannot have unlimited powers- we're trying to keep them close to the types that were in J.M. Barrie's writings.

User Image The story takes place in Neverland; however, your character does not have to be from Neverland.

User Image PLEASE: Follow good RP etiquette. Use good grammar and if you wish to be involved, update regularly. Don't make characters that are not yours do things without the permission of the character's creator; this includes injuring them, romancing, placement, etc.

User Image Keep to Gaia's rules and regulations. Keep it PG-13. Romance is allowed, but remember that fairies do not function completely like humans, and are not created like humans.

{Story:}

There is no concrete storyline; that means that the RP can go in any direction. However there is a basis to this RP.

Fairy colonies from around the world flee to Neverland as they realize that the fairy population on earth is dying out. This being said, you can create all sorts of angst or comedy or whatever you want for your character.

{About Neverland:}

Please read this if you've never read the original novel by J. M. Barrie.

For those who do not know... Neverland is an actual island that is on Earth, not a magical island in the sky. (Hence why it can be discovered by pirate ships.) There are many fantasic creatures on Neverland, but the island itself does not prevent time from moving, or stop people from growing old. I'm afraid the Disney version of Peter Pan has led people to believe this. Peter Pan is also a normal human boy, who just decided to stop growing one day and for that reason, is forever young.

{Profiles}

Gaia Name :: ska-chan-punk-san
Fairy Name ::Raine
Age ::9 human years
Gender ::male
Personality ::Raine is generally quite passive and likes to watch from the outside. He is opinionated and a bit stubborn, plus tends to have a rather dark attitude. He likes to keep busy and wander on his own often, though he will be social if there is need to be.
Background/Origin ::Raine lived in a forest in South Korea for most of his life until the fairy population began to die. He traveled to Neverland to see if he could escape the massive disbelief along with a few other fairies from the area. His life has been generally plain and uneventful (as much as a fairy's life can be). He became attached to a child who sent him away, so he is reserved about developing relationships with humans.
Likes/Dislikes ::Likes: traveling, reading, meditating; Dislikes: bratty children, cities, science
Picture :: User Image artwork (c) ska-chan-punk-san

Gaia Name :: musapan
Fairy Name :: Rook
Age :: 11 human years
Gender :: Male
Personality :: Rook is slightly reserved and sometimes sarcastic, and has been known to break rules if he disagrees with them. He finds he connects better with animals than other fairies sometimes. He has a tendency to let loose when he's alone, and isn't opposed to having fun in the company of those he trusts, which isn't many. He really doesn't like humans very much, seeing them as noisy, disrespectful and cruel.
Background/Origin :: Originally from Kensington Gardens, Rook was a Royal Guard serving under the Queen. He didn't particularly like or dislike his job. He watched humans in silence while living among them, finding himself rather disgusted with them after a time. He met Peter Pan once, when the boy visited the gardens... He wasn't terribly impressed, and wondered why the boy was such a legend among the fairies.
Before long, disbelief was killing off so many fairies in the Gardens, including the Queen, that many fairies, Rook included, fled to the Neverland to try and find a way to stop the overpowering disbelief.
Likes/Dislikes :: Likes: Animals, (that won't eat him) the rain, reading. Dislikes: Most humans, the sound cell-phones make, insects
Picture :: User Image artwork (c) musapan

Gaia Name :: musapan
Fairy Name :: Jovi
Age :: 6 human years
Gender :: Female
Personality :: Cheerful and utterly naive and sweet. Jovi can be rather dense, as well, and doesn't always understand things even when they are explained. This isn't attributed to her age, since by fairy standards, she is an adult... It's simply her nature. She is rather clumsy as well, but always tries to see the good side of a situation, if there is one.
Background/Origin :: Jovi has always lived on Neverland, and has always enjoyed living there. She used to watch Peter Pan and his lost boys from a distance, thinking them adorable and amusing, until one day she introduced herself to them. From then on she ended up hanging around them a lot. Peter rarely remembers her name, but she doesn't mind... She has a particular fondness for Fox, one of Peter's lost boys.
Likes/Dislikes :: Likes: Games, nature, Peter and his men. Dislikes: Rudeness, people/fairies that are mean to others, scary stories

Raine had not been living in Neverland for long, and he was still not quite used to it all. While the hierarchy of fairies was never entirely different where he went, this new place wasn't anything like what he had been used to. He had often been told that his lack of open-mindedness was the reason he was having difficulty adjusting, but he simply shrugged and flew off, his soft green light surrounding him. Raine had yet to even see Peter Pan, who was the most talked about thing in Neverland. He frowned. A little boy that ran the show wasn't something he really liked the idea of, but he had been assured that life would be better here. He had seen many fairies disappear over the years, so he hoped they could figure out what to do so he could return to what he considered home.

He flew aimlessly around the Neverland, avoiding other creatures and being superficially polite to any fairies he encountered but avoided conversation. He was mapping the place in his head so that he wouldn't get lost, although he wasn't sure where he was at the moment. He didn't care and kept flying.

So. This was the Neverland.
Rook stared down at the smallish island with a certain distaste. Although he had nothing against nature in any of it's forms, the switch from noisy, busy London to an uncharted, magical island was still a bit much for him to take in all at once. A couple of fairies flew past him and dove straight for the island; he had traveled with them up until now; he still didn't know their names, although they had lived among him in the Kensington Gardens, as well. They hadn't talked much; he supposed they were intimidated by him, which wasn't something that surprised him. Rook sighed heavily... How could this small little island hold the solution to their problems?
Glancing back over the ocean towards where he knew his previous home to be, Rook shook his head and used a burst of speed to send himself flying down towards the island. He had no idea where fairies lived here on the island, so he decided to fly around for a bit and try and figure everything out.

Raine looked around carefully as he paused in his flight. Feeling as though this travel was becoming less fruitful by the minute, he decided to land and rest for a moment. He decided to sit on a soft yellow flower, and he looked up to the sky. There was just a lot he didn't want to deal with when it came to bringing the fairies together. If children didn't believe, they would all die some day, and as children began to laugh less, fewer fairies were born. He sighed then, feeling slightly hopeless. He didn't really see the point, or see what anyone could do to encourage more belief in them. In a world of high technology, such mythical creatures as themselves were disregarded as hallucinations or a figment of imagination; both of these frustrated Raine greatly. His aquamarine eyes moved along the sky, hoping to catch a glimpse of something to give him some hope, but all he saw was sky.

Rook scanned the ground of Neverland; never before had he seen so many creatures all gathered in one place. He ended up circling an Indian encampment, as well, which surprised him.. The Indians must be safe from the rest of civilization on this island, he figured. He was mostly looking for the bright glows of his fairy brethren... Certainly one of them could tell him where in the world he should go, and what he was supposed to do.
Sighing, Rook found his back muscles growing tired from so much aimless flying; he lit gracefully on a broken tree stump, that was in the center of a tiny patch of yellow flowers. He ran both hands through his hair and then rested them on the top of his head for a moment. He wasn't so sure about all of this.
Something caught his eye right then, the bright glow of another fairy, who was seated on a flower. Rook blinked for a moment, then turned towards the fairy. Finally, he thought irritably. He left the broken trunk and zipped over to the dark haired fairy, hovering in the air several human inches from the flower. "Hello," Rook said, in almost a business like manner opposed to a friendly one, "I just arrived here... Would you mind telling me where fairies dwell around here?" he asked, putting his hands on his hips.

Raine was leaning back on his arms when his attention was taken by another fairy. He surpressed a groan, since he was not fond of the idea of conversation at the moment. He ran some fingers through his hair slowly and then allowed the strands to fall. "I don't know," he said in response to the other fairy's question. "I've seen a few other fairies milling around, but I didn't bother to talk to any of them. I just got here myself, you know." He was suddenly a bit more curious about where the fairies did, indeed, live on Neverland. He sighed heavily, wanting the intruder to go away.

Rook frowned. Of course, the first fairy he would talk to wouldn't know anything. Now that he had a closer look at him, this fairy looked incredibly foreign, like one he had never seen. And the way he spoke was also very different. "Where are you from?" he asked the fairy rather sharply; He was still used to being in a position of authority, and didn't think that he was being rude. Nor did he care, either way. "Japan, maybe?" he inquired, flying forward a little and staring hard at the fairy as if he were a mystery.

Raine scoffed at this fairy's suggestion of his being from Japan. "I recently arrived from South Korea," he said matter-of-factly. He stared back at the other fairy, feeling slightly like a sideshow as he was stared at. He looked away and didn't say anything, picking at the flower gently. After a while he sighed. "So..." he said, "I haven't any clue where to go here, or where fairies typically reside on Neverland. This is really my first time even being here, so I feel a bit helpless... Sorry I can't seem to be any good to you.."

"South Korea?" Rook said, frowning. He didn't continue with his thought, if he had had one to begin with. Rook folded his arms over his chest, sighing in irritation. "So am I," he said in responce to the male fairy's last remark. He tore his gaze away from the fairy and looked around briefly. "I really don't like it here," he said faintly. He sighed again. His odd-colored eyes trailed back to the Korean fairy. "Seeing as how we're both completely clueless here," he started, zipping around to the side of the fairy, hovering next to the flower so that he could see what was in the other direction, "perhaps it would be prudent to look together. I... Don't know anyone here, really..." he finished. He landed gently on one of the yellow petals, glancing at the fairy for his answer.

"Me neither," Raine said and stood up. He didn't want to search around with another fairy, especially one he didn't know. "Got a problem with where I'm from?" he said, mostly under his breath, a late reaction to the intruder's frown. He looked around and sighed heavily. "Despite hating the fact that I might need help, you're right... It might be a good idea to look together.." He frowned a little, and shifted his weight onto one leg, his wings twitched slightly.

Rook raised a brow, hearing the comment from under the other fairies breath... He listened to him continue, and then floated upward again, circling the other fairy, his arms still crossed. "I don't have a problem with where you're from," Rook said, choosing to ignore everything else the fairy said. "Sorry if it seemed that way. But you see, I've never been outside of London... You looked so foreign, and I was surprised when you said you were from Korea..." Rook stopped when he was behind the other fairy, and zipped over to him without warning, using two fingers to loosely grab a few strands of the korean fairies' hair. He rubbed his thumb over the dark hair, and quirked a brow elegantly. "Wow, even your hair is different... How odd," he said matter of factly.

Raine jerked his head away and frowned. "A little pushy, aren't we?" he uttered, "Of course its different..." was all he could manage to say further. He didn't think this fairy speaking to him was anything different or fantastic, just a slight change from what he was used to seeing. He shrugged. "Sorry if I seem a bit...jumpy," he said then, turning to look at the other fairy. "I'm not used to much interaction with others, so I may be just a bit unsociable." Raine wouldn't admit that he didn't care he was this way. He had only managed to make one human friend, and very few fairies enjoyed his company. He never cared much, and rather liked being on his own; he secretly hoped this fairy would be off on his way.
