((Okay, so many of you don't even know who this character is, but I've decided that since he gets RPed among Chunsa and Akma that I'd start this here. This will be an ongoing work for me, which will detail the tragic life of one of my original characters...As soon as I can get a picture of him I'll post it, until then you'll just have to wonder what he looks like, that is unless you already happen to know. This probably won't go into a lot of detail, because well, I'm a bit lazy...but I want to get his story told one way or another.))

Introduction

A lot of you don't know me, which is mostly my fault anyway. My name is Raven, Raven Blackwing, and you could say I'm new around here. I was first brought to this plain by the chunsa you all know as Clef, I'm apprenticed under him, and helped him get back to his beloved, so he'd teach me how to be a great magic warrior. A lot has changed with us both though, and I'm now stuck here, not that I want to leave anyway...I've found a reason to enjoy life here, a reason to stay where I'm not meant to be. Not to mention Guru Clef can't take me back even if he wanted to, it's a long story and I'm not even sure what really happened.

Anyway, I've decided that since I'm here, living a life I never expected to live, I'd write my story for future generations, and so my children, should there ever be any, will know what I've been through in my life...

Oh did I mention that I'm an Animagi? Don't know what that is? Well you will soon enough. Enjoy my story...

Chapter 1: The Early Years

I'll start my story at the beginning, starting by telling you all about my family and home. My people, the Animagi, lived in a village within a dense forest. The forest provided us with everything we could hope for, food, shelter, supplies, just about anything we needed.

On second thought maybe I should start by telling you what exactly an Animagi is. The Animagi are a race of shapeshifters, for the most part we appear human, but unlike humans our race can assume the shape of any animal, now that doesn't mean I can become a dragon or anything special like that, just typical animals such as a cat or a bear. We all have black and silver streaked hair, so yes it is naturally that way if you wondered, and our eyes tend to be natural colors like greens and browns, my eyes are one of the rare exceptions to this rule as they are gold in color. As I mentioned, we all have black and silver hair, and as such any animal form we assume is black and silver in color, even if it doesn't usually fit the animal's natural colors, so if you come across a black and silver tiger it's probably me. As for the name, well my people name their young after the first animal form we assume, in my case that was obviously a Raven; though I can still remember my parents arguing about whether or not I was a crow or a raven. Anyway, that's enough explanation as to what I am, back to the story.

As I said before, the forest provided us with food, shelter, and even protection for many years. I grew up with my parents and 5 brothers and sisters, all older than me. I'd rather not go into too much detail about my family, so I hope you don't mind not knowing their names...just know that I spent 7 great years with my family, learning, growing, and gaining many skills. As any young animagi tended to do I wandered out in the forest, exploring, learning what plants were helpful and which were harmful, and made friends with many animals, did I forget to mention we can speak to animals? Anyway, I loved my family, and they all loved me and looked out for me as I grew through the years. My father always used to tell me great stories about the adventures he'd been on in his younger days, and I always dreamed of following in his footsteps as a great adventuring mage.
Unfortunately before I could begin training under my father's guidance tragedy struck the village, a day I'll never forget as long as I live...

Chapter 2: Tragedy Strikes

I'm sure by now you've noticed that I have a slight tendency to refer to my family in the past tense, now you'll find out why that is...

I remember the day as if it was just yesterday, though in all truth it was over 10 years ago. The sun was shining through the dense forest canopy, scattering spots of light on the forest floor as a cool breeze blew the leaves, music of the forest my mother always called it. As usual I was out and about flying through the forest in raven form, dodging both branches and the scattered beams of sunlight that pierced the canopy overhead (this of course made for good practice when it came to dodging spells and arrows later in my life). Suddenly I heard a noise quite like thunder; though that couldn't be, the sun was still shining through the trees. As any curious child would, since I was 7 at the time, I flew up above the tree tops to investigate. What I saw my young mind couldn't even begin to grasp, marching toward our peaceful forest village was an army outfitted in black armor with a banner depicting a skull with black wings. My young mind panicked, my body locked up, and all I could do was sit perched on the tree tops with my eyes squeezed shut. My body began to tremble as the screams of my people reached my ears, and then the smell of smoke and blood flooded my nostrils, and still I couldn't move, I sat there as my entire village was destroyed, everything I ever knew would soon be taken from me.

Again the sound of thunderous marching could be heard, the attackers were leaving! As I came back to my senses I rushed back down to the village below and once again saw something my young mind wasn't ready for; there among the ashes of what had once been my village lied hundreds of mutilated corpses, both humanoid and animal, the smell of blood and smoke was stronger now, and I think I threw up several times. Then I saw something that should have driven me totally insane, there among the remains of my home lied my father and hero, disemboweled, and behind him lied the remains of my mother and siblings, all dead. I wept over there bodies for what seemed to be hours for me, and at the time my young mind placed the blaim on my shoulders, I told myself that if I'd rushed back to warn the village then maybe we could've been prepared, maybe we could've ran...but no, I'd been too afraid, and now everything I knew was gone forever. I was a homeless orphan, all because of the actions of others.

I know now that I could've done nothing, but the guilt I felt for so long is what drove me on in my life...which will come later
