Kai never thought his day would be like this, nor did he ever believe he would have a day like this. He was a simple Gambler, with only one care in the world, living to Gamble another day, but today, today was different. It all started about a week ago when Kai had went to gamble at a local place and had beaten a Rodian who took it personally. It wasn't the first time someone took it personally but it was however the first time anyone pulled a gun out on Kai, and fire. Seeing a blaster pistol wasn't uncommon when dealing with Thugs but normally Kai could talk his way out of it or the Thug thought better. The Rodian however didn't think better of it and shot. Lucky for Kai another gambler had just walked between Kai and the Rodian and took the shot for Kai, though Kai doubted it was by choose. That night Kai went and bought a blaster pistol and sure enough a few days later the Rodian came back demanding his money. A fire fight broke out, leaving Kai the winner. Again everything was normal for the next few days until one day when Kai went to gamble. A man sat next to Kai.
"I hear that you have beaten a Rodian a few times as of late."
Kai looked at him and knew instantly today wasn't going to be a normal day. He was looking at a small thug boss.
"Yeah..." Kai said, not really wanting to but also not wanting to lie.
"Then I have a offer for you. I want our credits back, but I am a fair man. We'll gamble for it. If you win, I'll give you a Wookiee slave. I was getting tired of him anyway and was planning to kill him later this week so either way I win."
"If you say so." Kai answered. "I can't really say no to you could I? SO I'll have to go with the deal."
"Your a smart man. So lets do this. We'll play one game of fifty, fifty, winner takes all. Are you ready?"
Kai nodded.
"You call it, I'll roll it." The Thug boss said.
Kai believed this was a trap but didn't know any other way around it yet. If he lost he would fight his way out, he'd probably have to do the same if he won. "Blue!"
The Thug Boss nodded then rolled. In less then three second the dice stopped rolling and ended on Blue.
Kai readied himself for battle but was shocked when none came.
"Get him the Wookiee." The Thug boss said.
"But Boss!" The Rodian from before protested.
"I am a fair man. He won, we'll deal with our differences another day. Give him the Wookiee."
The Rodian nodded and brought in a Wookiee all chained up.
"That is electric chains. If he moves too much one way he gets a pretty nasty shock." The Thug Boss explained. "Here is the key to it. Once unlocked the Electric system shuts down. Be careful though, he has a nasty temper."
Kai wasn't sure if the thug boss was being truthful or just trying to scare him but once they left Kai looked at the Wookiee.
"My names Kai. I'm going to unlock you know. After that your free to go." Kai wasn't sure what would happen but unlocked the massive beast none the less, hopping for the best.

Darkness, darkness with a few glints of light. But mostly darkness. Much has changed since Gropacca led his troop through the vast forests of Kashyyyk, patrolling the boarders of any and all threats.
Back on his planet, he was revered as a guardian and a high ranking military leader. That all changed when the Trandoshan's and the droids came. Gropacca led his troop into battle and faught valiantly. Many Wookiees were killed, some were enslaved by the Trandoshans.
That is where the Wookiee now found himself. Captured, enslaved. His will nearly crushed. At this particular moment, he was being led through a long hallway into a low lit gambling establishment. He stood now infront of a Twi'lek male, he was being released! It made sense to him now, he had been won in a gambling game. Wasnt the first time. It was; However, the first time he had been released after being won.
After the Rodian released Him, Gropacca growled and pushed the Rodian away, nearly clean of his feet. Gropacca thought it best not to kill the Rodian at this time.
Grobacca now stood face to face with his Twi'lik saviour. Grobacca howled in his native language
"{I am endebted to you my friend. My services are yours till Ive paid back my debt to you}"

"There is no need." Kai told him. "I'm just glad you are safe now. Well, have a good day." Kai said walking away. He understood Shyriiwook, he learn it from a old Gambler, who was born on the Wookiee's home world, but He didn't learn about Wookiees themselves. He had no clue what he had gotten into.

Gropacca watched his walk by and tilted his head to the side a bit. He put his hairy, paw-like hand on the Twi'Lek's shoulder, effectively stopping him. With a series of grunts and howls, Gropawcca said:
"{My friend, you dont understand. On my homeword, there is a custom called the Life Debt. Surely I would have been killed if you hadent won me in this game of chance. As dictated in the Wookiee custom, I am to be by your side, aiding you, until I have saved your life.}"
Gropacca looked the Twi'lek in the eyes to show he was serious, and wasn't trying to procure a cheap free ride.

Kai looked at the Wookiee. He wasn't sure if he wanted the walking Rug to always be with him. It would through off his game, with Gambling, and even more so with the ladies. Kai looked around trying to think of something quickly. "Umm... so if I choke on a peanut and you save me the life debt is over?"

Gropacca nudged the Twi'lek slighly and grunted at the joke. Gropacca was not without a sence of humor. Gropacca began walking with his typical Wookiee long strides in the direction the Twi'lek was walking and howled to ask:
"{Where are we going and what are you called? I Am Gropacca}"

"Umm... My name is Kai... Kai Vale..." Kai said a little nerves. He was scared on how the Wookiee laugh at his comment like if it was a joke but Kai was no joking. Having someone around until he saved your life was a little weird and Kai wasn't sure how he was going to deal with this, and to top it all off, Kai was a little worried about how much this beast ate. He wasn't sure if he could win enough to feed them mighty thing each day. "So um..." Kai started to say. "...do you work?" he knew it was a stupid question before he asked it, seeing how the Wookiee was just a slave, but Kai couldn't think of anything else to day and the silents was driving him nuts.

Gropacca howled to say:
"{The only job Ive ever had was on my homeword. I have been a slave since, doing menial tasks for little more than scaps of food. If you would have me find job than I will.}"
GRopacca began looking over Kai more carefully. He looked like a man with keen wits and a good sence.
"{There may be work for as as bounty hunters. Im sure some of the scum here are wanted.}"

"Wow." Kai said stopping in his tracks. "I'm a Gambler, not a fighter. If you want to be a bounty hunter thats fine but I am having no part of it. I was more going with like a Factory worker, or Delivery... Wookiee... for you... but yeah I am not going to join you in killing people. Thats not my thing."
