 Morning, it was a beautiful day, the little cub stretched as she stepped into the world, tail flicking in the sun. Brown eyes searched the land around her, the world was so big, so much to do, so much to explore.
A grin on her maw, Awinita bounded from the den, intent on exploring every inch of the new world before her, if only she had know just how big the world was. Bounding to a patch of grass, she buried her nose in the long leaves, smelling as deeply as she could, snorting as she inhaled sand into her nose, only to bound to another grass patch to repeat the same thing.
But then something else caught her attention, halting her in her steps, eyes fixed on the flash of bright color. She chased after it, following the brightly colored creature as it fluttered ahead of her, stopping only when it settled to land on a blade of grass. Wow, it was so pretty, brilliant yellow and orange, with black and white spots, and...eyes? Why on earth did it have giant eyes on it's wings, or at least she thought those were wings and she thought they were eyes.
She wondered what it would feel like to touch it. She raised a paw, but then paused, should she try? It wouldn't hurt it would it?

Chepi had decided maybe the moment they were born that she was much more clever then her sister, maybe it was because she thought her sister was just not with it. Either way today she decided to follow her, well, more stalk her in hope that she would od something that would allow her to pounce her and scare her. Chepi found the idea hilarious and knew it would be well worth it.
As she followed she had to stop when she saw her sister looking at something. It was probably something that would taste nice, her sister didn't seem to realise what was food and what wasn't. She shouldn't play with food!
So Chepi held her breath, counted to three and pounced.

I had proved to be a mistake thinking that she was alone. Captivated as she was, Nita had failed to notice her sister, not heard the sound of approaching footsteps, until it was too late. With a loud squeak she tumbled under her sister's pounce, crashing into the very patch of grass her nose had been in only moments before. Owww...
"Chepi! Get off me!"
Turning, paws raised, she batted at her sister, wriggling under her weight in an attempt to free herself. Get off, get off, get off! She didn't want to play! She wanted to find her bu--and then she saw it, her beloved butterfly lay still on the ground, crushed by the two cubs that had tumbled over top of it.
"AHHHH!! Chepi, you crushed it!!"
A horrified cry, Nita sprang to her paws, looking down sadly at her brightly colored friend. Stupid Chepi, why did she have to ruin everything?
Unlike her sister, Awinita was not a 'rough and tumble' type of girl. She was curious, kind, gentle, and totally oblivious. She enjoyed watching the world, finding beauty in all she saw, perfectly content in finding something (or someone) to cuddle.
Sighing, she supposed a butterfly wouldn't survive a cuddle, but it did look soft, and if it was already crushed it wouldn't hurt it would it? It would be a good way to say goodbye. Carefully she reached a paw out, just daring to touch the edge of one wing. It fluttered at her touch, it was still alive!
Smiling, the little cub settled on her haunches to watch the creature, her sister, for the moment, forgotten.

Chepi only got off because of her sisters cry about the stupid butterfly. It summed Nita up to be worried about something Chepi would eat and maybe today she just felt cruel but as Nita touched it slightly and it moved Chepi trotted over and snapped it up into her mouth. The soft crunching was heard before she swallowed it.
"You shouldn't play with your food."
She smiled proudly at herself. She was right, mother said not to play with their food but Nita always did and Chepi was sure there must be something wrong with her sister, after all who played with food?
She knew what would come back. Nita would not be happy by the fact that Chepi had just eaten her beautiful butterfly but ah well, it tasted nice.

Horrified, she simply stared, jaw gapping, eyes wide, barely containing the tears that shook her small body. Wha-what, Chepi couldn't have done that, she just couldn't have, how could anyone be so mean. But she was, and she had, she had destroyed the beautiful creature. Why, why, why would she do that?!
Reeling, she turned on her sister, browns eyes that had been so gentle only a moment before, now burned with fury and anger. It may have been startling to see such fury in one so gentle, even as tears streamed from her eyes, her maw furrowed in a frown. It's the quiet ones you have to watch out for, always the quiet ones.
"Why did you do that?! You're mean!"
Her voice boomed, or at least it did her her ears. Without thinking, before she had even realized what she'd done, Nita had pounced, tackling her sister, a talonless paw raised to swat at whatever she could she could reach. Why did Chepi have to ruin everything!?
"I hate you!"

Chepi just smiled.
"Oh stop being so stupid. You will starve if you always want to make friends with food."
Then her sister pounced and Chepi's smile just widened. Oh how she loved to play fight. She was just amused that her sister only started it because she had eaten a butterfly. Big deal!
She let Nita tackle her and then went for her ears to chew and pull on them at the same time. It was her favourite move, chew and pull ears. Her fathers ears were the best to chew on for sure!

It may have been a game for Chepi, but for Awinita it was not. The little brown cub was angry, furious, hurt, at that moment she truly did hate her sister. It wasn't fair, it wasn't right, why did her sister have to be so mean? She didn't think like Chepi, she didn't -want- to think like Chepi, and she was certain her sister was -not- always right despite Chepi's insistence to the contrary.
"You're stupid! Not everything is food!"
Why her sister used that argument she would never understand. Nita had no objection to eating 'food', but not every other animal was food. She wasn't going to go around eating every animal smaller than her, that was just stupid.
"Get away from me!"
Nita screamed, flailing, paws striking out as hard as she could, pounding at her sister with each strike. She wanted away, away from her sister, why couldn't Chepi just leave her alone? Oh how close she was to pulling the 'I'm telling Daddy!" card, though she thought Chepi would probably just laugh.

Chepi laughed, how could she help it? Nita's face... it was just too funny. She seemed to get so defensive over what she thought was right. Where was the harm in eating a butterfly every now and then? It was food!
"Away from you? Well thats no fun!" She laughed while trying to doge her sisters strikes.
She did get hit but one of them but that just made a decision in Chepi's mind very quickly.
"I am gonna get ya now!" She smirked and got ready to pounce at her sister. one... two... three.... pounce.

Maybe Chepi didn't understand, or maybe she simply didn't care. To Nita the butterfly was not just a random bug, and it certainly wasn't food. it was a beautiful creature, it was -hers-, and she had enjoyed seeing the beauty in such a small creature. She was certainly not stupid enough to think it was her friend, but she had wished to admire it a moment longer, and she had not wished to see it killed by her sister.
Tears streaming from her eyes, she still flailed at her sister, even as she tumbled to the ground under her sister's weight, she lashed out, kicked, anything she could do to get away from her sister. She was angry, hurt, why couldn't Chepi just go away and leave her alone?!
"I hate you! I hate you! I HATE YOU! I hope you fall off a cliff and die!"
Later she would regret those words, and despite how angry Chepi made her, she would feel bad for what she had said, and she would realize that she had only spoken in anger, she didn't really want Chepi to die nor did she truly hate her. But at that moment, she meant every word she said, she hated her sister, she wished she would never have to see her again!

Chepi continued to laugh, she couldn't help it. She knew her sister didn't mean what she was saying or at least wouldn't which made it all more fun for Chepi. It was just too fun to annoy her sister but she knew better then to continue too much. Nita was one to go crying to their parents.
"Fine, I shall leave you to sulk. I shall find some more butterflys to eat.. I think I will rip the wings off first before eating it... mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" She giggled and ran off before her sister could try and hit her or scream at her or something similar. There would be time to do this again later.

"How would you like it if someone bigger tried to eat you?!"
She called after her sister, but it didn't really seem to matter if she heard anymore. Left alone, Nita raised a paw to wipe the tears from her eyes, quietly sniffling to herself. Maybe something bigger -would- try to eat Chepi, then maybe she'd know how it felt, and if she was eaten, Nita wouldn't have to see her or be bothered by her again. Stupid Chepi.
Sighing, she turned, walking off in her own direction, hoping to stay as far away from her sister as possible. She had thought of going home, of finding their parents and telling what had happened, but she would probably just get in trouble too, and then Chepi would just have that much more to torment her for.
Eyes narrowed, her jaw set, Awinta was determined to forget what had happened, to enjoy the day had she had intended. She would look for another butterfly, one that her stupid sister couldn't eat. And she would watch it, and see how pretty it was, and then she would leave it alone to flutter off, happy to have seen such beauty.
