Not terribly sure what you're getting at.
I've been using homebrew for months now with next to no unwanted operation. Once or twice I had to pull the battery due to a program getting stuck...but then I've gotten this with actual umd games too.
Now, if you're referring to the jerks who purposely made a program to brick psp's, then yes, it's true, and pathetic. If you or anyone else wants to downgrade then please ask for secure links to the files to avoid this and get the real downgrade kit.

The so called first "PSP Trojan" deletes important files in your flash that the PSP needs to operate correctly.
Without them, you are left with a expensive paper weight.
There is actually a homebrew app that checks eboots for anything of the sort.
Think of it as an anti-virus for your PSP.

I think you mean PSPs with Homebrew. Homebrew are games the nice folk at home make.

Ah what the heck, I have some free time on my hands anyway.
But seriously, a good google/wikipedia search can give you what your looking for with minimal effort. But if you can't find it, then its time to ask the guild.
First, "Whats an .ISO"?
An .iso file is a disk image. Disk images allow us to have the bootcode, data files, filesystem. Allowing you to basically have everything in one file.
Most operating systems allow disk images to be mounted somewhat like a "virtual disk" containing media or whatever else is on it.
Think of an .iso as a virtual CD. Or in this case, UMD. B)
Now it shouldn't be very difficult to imagine how a "virtual UMD" would be thrown into a Memory Stick Duo and then played as a game.
But theres a problem with this, the games people are copying off UMD and making .iso's out of are copyrighted. Which means your pirating these games. Which makes Sony mad.
Where can you get some of these .iso files? Sorry, cant help you there. Agianst Gaia Rules.
But not all .iso files are illegal. Only the ones carrying copyrighted material are.
