I only attended my film class for about 30 minutes to go see Maya Angelou speak. She was requested and came to UConn, and she is an amazing woman. I was moved to tears at a few points, and I was glad that there was a large turnout of students, teachers, and a few janitors.
I highly recommend her books also. I'm reading her newest: Letter to my Daughter and it is very good.
She knows her history, literature, and was filled was amazingly: funny, sad, and inspiring stories.

In addition, she didn't speak a word about the election tomorrow, and that made me happy, she only spoke of kindness.
