I'm going to submit some of my poetry for a publication this year...I'm just not sure which ones. I have a collection of my favourites - the ones that have meaning for most people, that are the most polished and nice. Anyways, thought I should post them here, and if anyone has any suggestion on which one(s) I should submit, please tell me!~ biggrin Thanks. (By the way, all of my poems can be found on my website via the link in my profile, and this particular collection can be found on my other site, here.)
Spell of Serenity, which I've posted before so I will only post the link.
A Chance (or Teenage Life, I am still unsure of the title) Why must I hide From prying eyes? Why must I fear Those who are near? Why must Teenage Life Go hand-in-hand with the knife?
And yet Suicide is not painless; It hurts more than just One. And I choose to leave it. I still have a Chance To do something good. I still have a Chance... Just as you should.
La Vie Every life has love in it, Every life has pain, Every life has anger and madness, Every life has shame.
Every life's a Hamlet, A Caesar, A MacBeth; Every life must end, Everyone feels Death.
But dwell not on the sorrows Of the future or the past; Take time to enjoy life While it lasts.
My Sanctuary Music and books The saviours of my world. Without them I'd die, Without them I can't hide- Forget my pain, The internal torture, Rotting away my heart, My soul. They are joy, bliss, Excitement and adventure; A story far worse And better Than my own. One I wish I had And yet don't. Nonetheless, a recluse, A sanctuary, With hope and wisdom To help me through My own journey.
Drifting Away Drifting Away On a Sea of Dreams- Drifting Away From Ev'ryday Schemes- Drifting Away On the Ocean Blue- Drifting Away, Just Me and You.
My Life the Soap Opera They're true, soap operas- Based on fact, on the lives Of my friends and myself. We are a TV series, The Hallway Friends, For the entertainment Of some higher power? A strange group; A Midsummer Night's Dream With more players More tangles in the Web of Love- One connects and another snaps; They are twigs on a glass tree, Our relationships. Two may entwine and shatter, Or may grow into a branch, A strong limb That can withstand the forces Of Labour and Nature Better than the rest.
Arachnophobia Arachnids in my room. They sit there in the gloom. They are laughing in mirth At my bravery of little worth. There are Arachnids in my room.
Arachnids in my room. The webs they are weaving Behind them they are leaving; Over me they loom. There are Arachnids in my room.
Arachnids in my room. Where do they work, Where do they lurk, Hiding from their doom? There are Arachnids in my room.
I Never Knew I never knew That you would be there - I never knew That you would not. I never knew That you would Love me - I never knew How you could not. I never knew Someone like you - Until I knew Someone like you. I never knew And how could I? Until you Broke my Heart.

About Teenage Life...May I cling to you? *cling*
I could tell you a lot about hospitals and hotlines and the mental health system that would just piss any person off, especially someone on the verge of suicide. That's a wonderful poem and you definitely should submit it. heart By the way, I'm going to PM you the link to my blogger-thing. smile
