ok the results are in and America is gonna go down the drain. Sadly Barack Obama won. Obama 333 and Mccain 156. No my parents and all other working class families will be taxed and be told how much money we are allowed to make, causing us to become a socialiastic country like europe. Socialism is like communism because the government controls our income and other things. We do still have rights but if you look throughout history this doesn't work. I will say that I knew this was coming but I was hoping it wouldn't. Please state your opinion on this both sides are accepted and please no flaming other peoples opinions.

I'm sad too...
Obama...well he got people to vote at least? I really don't agree with him on anything else. His health care plan will not go over in Congress well, but he'll be out of office before he can do any real damage. I hope Congress does their job. Obama taxing the successful people and giving it to poor drunk people on the street, when the money could be used someplace else.
Mccain...I knew he wasn't going to win. I liked his health care plan because it was reasonable and didn't tax us as much. He also allows us to keep guns and capital punishment (which will lower taxes even more). Too bad everyone just saw the old white guy that is republician like Bush and not the issues he was supporting.

capital punishment is often more expensive than keeping the prisoner alive for life, not to mention against Catholic teaching.
my main beef with obama is the abortion issue. he voted no on an act that would give healthcare to infants whose abortions failed and came out alive, and he wants to put no restrictions on late-term abortions.
stuff like being taxed seems arbitrary to me when millions of innocent people are murdered every single year at the consent of their own mothers.

....I'm a socialist. Not just in ideals, but in political party. Then again, as a European, "socialist" isn't a dirty word like it is in the States.
I think people get too fixated on "zomg taxes nuuuu!!!111!!!!" and don't stop to think about how those taxes will benefit them directly, like being able to walk into a medical facility when you're ill and receive treatment at no charge.
Or how those taxes will make the society in which they live healthier, like creating a larger middle class. Making the rich richer and the poor poorer doesn't really create a healthy environment for the country.
But, eh, it's not my country, and I can at least sympathise with not liking the person who ended up in office. *shakes fist at Sarkozy*
