The pup was wandering again, a surprise since he had been under a much more stern and attentive gaze as of late. Both his parents were bothered by the fact that the smallest and weakest pup preferred to play so far from the den...
But Joska was burning with questions, especially after that strange night... That wolf smelled so bad! Like strong blood! He wanted to help her and that other voice sounded so sad...
He didn't realize just how much danger he had been in, but the green and blue wolf said he was very brave! He needed to know just what happened!

Sorpresa: She was doing it again. She was thinking about the pup. Her mind was wandering as were her paws away from the Southern territory she lived in. Ever since her pack made her a scout she's been traveling more. Ever since Narcissa had been saved she not only wondered how the cured helix was doing she also wandered a lot about the pup she had carried, protected, and saved. She didn't even know his name, only what he looked like. She wondered if he had gotten in trouble or if he had explained why she did what she did. She couldn't blame his father for being angry, she could only imagine what it felt like to be a parent.
She knew she should stop thinking about the pup but she couldn't help it! Maybe she needed to have pups of her own someday, take her mind off the pup. She wanted to meet him again but had no idea where he lived and besides his father would likely stop her from going anywhere near him. She sighed and looked around. She was in Eastern territory now. She hadn't even noticed going past the border. She decided to travel in, if she found anything dangerous here she could always tell her pack before it got to them so it wasn't like she wasn't doing her job... just not in the usual way.

As he wandered, he found little things distracting him along the way. He had no idea where to find the smelly wolf, anyways, so why not have some fun along the way? He could play and fight other animals until he found what he was searching for!
His eyes caught a sudden movement to his left...
The cricket hopped again and landed on the top of a fallen, rotting tree. He crouched down low as he watched the little creature pause and go about it's cleanly routines... He tensed... Then pounced, aiming at the insect.
He caught it in his paws, but overshot the log and rolled over, tumbling down a short incline. fortunately the hill was small, so it didn't take him long to reach the bottom. He landed with a hard "oomph."

Sorpresa: She was about to jump to the top of a small hill when suddenly... a pup fell down it and landed with a plop and an 'Oomph' right at her feet. She looked down at him, relaxing the tense posture she had taken in preparation for the jump. "Are you okay?" She asked, she should be an omega what with her severe protective instincts when it came to pups. That or a mother.
She realized with a jolt of shock that she knew this pup! It was him! She gasped softly and looked him in the eyes. "I remember you..." She said in wonderment. What were the chances of meeting him like this? She thought she'd never see him again! It was like fate had lended a paw to help them out. Oh, if only she knew his name! Her eyes held strong emotions with the reunion. She had so much to tell him.

He sat up and shook his head groggily. The cricket leapt out from beside him and hopped away to a safe distance, where it began to chirp. The pup would of swore that the little bug was teasing him...
And he turned his dizzy gaze towards the form that towered over him. His tail immediately began to thump wildly against the earth and his eyes lit up brightly.
"S'you! S'you! I been wondering where you are! Did everything go good? I wanted to stay an' help, but my pa made me leave, but I really did want to! Is she okay? The one with the sad voice? What happened? Anyone get hurt or anything?" The curious questions that welled within him as he had waited boiled over and escaped in a tumble of eager words.

Sorpresa: Her tail whipped about wildly in joy, he was happy to see her! She gladly laid down, ready and eager to tell him the story about the fate of the blood helix. She still believed that had it not been for the pup's presence luring Narcissa out that her fate might have been quite different. Everyone had been about to split up and look for her in groups. The killing side might have found her first if she hadn't attacked the two of them. Therefore she believed the brave pup had helped save Narcissa, he deserved to know what happened.
"I learned that the one with the sad voice is a helix that was cursed by a witch, her name was Narcissa. It was the curse that made her act and look the way she did." She explained to the pup first. Her voice turned very grave. "After your father took you away Narcissa attacked the ones who wanted to hurt her. It didn't hurt them much though. Then she ran away, very fast. The killing side and the saving side both ran after her. It was a race to see who would get to her first. I ran as fast as I could, worried that others were ahead of me. I didn't know if I would get there in time."
"I heard fighting ahead and ran to protect her. I was about to fight against the helixes that wanted to hurt her when a pup about your age showed up." Her voice quaked in remembrance of the bone-deep fear that swept through her when she knew what the blood helix would do. "Eyes black as night she lunged for the pup, jaws open! An alpha helix named Len, one of the helixes that wanted to hurt her, body slammed himself into her side, sending her flying! She landed knocked out in a snow drift." She didn't tell the pup that Narcissa had landed in a crumpled bloody heap on the ground, she didn't want to terrorize the pup with a gory horror story he might be too young to hear.
"I and others on the saving side came to her rescue, protecting her and trying to wake her up. She wasn't waking, I was afraid she had died..." Sorrow laced her voice, thinking about the moment. Thinking that she had failed, failed Narcissa, failed herself, and failed the young heart that trusted in her, that of the pup that helped her.
"Finally she did wake up. We talked to her, showed her that we were ready to die for her. Showed that we cared deeply. Her eyes turned the lightest shade of blue you could see. The color of the sky. She stopped bleeding and the rune markings on her shoulder came off. The curse was broken, at last." Her voice became warm with joy and triumph. "We protected her until she could escape from the helixes that wanted to hurt her. She washed off the blood, there were blue bands on her ears and legs we hadn't seen before. She's cured, alive and well now." She didn't say 'the end.' Real stories that happened in real life don't end as life continues forever. "If she hadn't found us, the story might have ended different. You were a big help, thank you." She told him.

His eys grew wide and he leaned in, after settling down on his haunches. Never had he listened so intently to anything before and right now he was so excited! His tail continued to beat wildly and he gave a little squeak of fright when she mentioned her lunging for another pup his age.
"So she's okay? Oh! That's great! I'm glad! You really think I did well? Papa was pretty mad at me, but I'm glad she's okay!"
He was helpful, like he always wanted to be. Perhaps this was a way he could prove he was big and strong! Other wolves would have to respect him, then!

Sorpresa: She smiled when the pup seemed proud of himself, she was glad to see him so happy. At his next words she gave him a concerned look. "He didn't punish you did he? Are you in a lot of trouble? Did you try to explain?" She questioned, it didn't seem fair to punish a pup for what another helix did. It seemed unfair to her, her tail curled in worry.
She felt perfectly relaxed around the pup, talking to someone younger didn't bother her and she was very happy to see him again. Now she would know if he was okay, she'd be able to rest at ease after this.

"I did... But, uh... Yeah. I wandered off, soooo... I ain't supposed to leave the den area for a while." He admitted, but that didn't seem to affect his good mood at all. It would be blatantly obvious that he broke the rules of his punishment... Again.
He was clearly no where near the den area that he was confined to. Oops. The little pup had a taste for adventure and wanderlust.

Sorpresa: She could only smile. "It's a good thing you did, else we wouldn't have been able to find each other like this!" She commented, praising the pup. She knew she shouldn't be rewarding disobedience since packs didn't need rebellious pups but she was very glad he had done it! She stood up and looked around, perking her ears. His parents would realize he was gone soon enough if he wasn't careful. If his father found her alone with his pup again it would probably be a very bad thing.

"Ya, I guess! I am glad! You are so totally awesome!" He praised, as he often did to the few he held in high esteem. Sorpresa had helped him be big and brave, so she was on his list of "awesome wolves I wanna be like when I grow up."
"But, oh well, I'll probably get noticed. I usually do. I'm the smallest, I guess. Papa and Mama are always trying to make me stay at home while my brothers and sister get to play outside the dennnn." He whined.

Sorpresa beamed, glad to be called awesome. The pup still liked her. She was glad. Her tail wagged again until she heard his next sad comment.
She cocked her head to the side. "They probably worry about you more, they love you and are afraid of losing you. Now why are your siblings let out and not you though? Your the same age as your litter mates and just as smart. You would be just fine. Is it because of you wandering away sometimes?" She asked, then decided dwelling on sad topics was not the way to go. She wanted to cheer the pup up, looking down thinking she noticed something and smiled. It seemed the runt of the litter would not remain so very long.
"Your paws are big, so it's not like your going to stay small forever. Hang in there and you'll be out of that den soon enough, a teen learning everything a helix needs to know about pack life, being a warrior, hunting, ranks, and growing up to be all that you can be. Big paws as a pup mean they'll grow into those paws. I would know, my little brother had big paws. He's taller and stronger than me now."

"'Cuz their bigger." He mumbled. "I on'y wander 'cuz its the only way I get to play without them followin' me 'round." He looked glum, but as soon as she began to talk about his paw size, he perked up a little bit.
"Y'mean I really am gonna be all big an' stuff?" He looked down at his paws, which he never found to be anything all that extraordinary. But this funny green and blue wolf had been right so far...
So she must be right right now. Of course she is.

"I'm sure of it Joska." She nodded confidently, she had seen enough pups to know and heard enough from her pack's den mothers. Speaking of pack she had better finish her scouting expedition and return to Rising Sun before her alpha started worrying about her.
She sighed, looking at the sun lowering itself in the sky. Why must one be bound by time? Ah well, she still had responsibilities to attend. Turning back to Joska she nuzzled the pup. "I have to go, I don't know when exactly we will meet again but I guarantee you that we certainly will.
"Take care of yourself." She encouraged, not wanting anything to happen to him. He wasn't her pup but he was still special to her for the bond their shared experience created.

"Wow..." Yep, she definitely had to be right.
The little gray pup returned the affectionate nuzzle and was greatful for the friendship he had forged with this older wolf, even if Papa didn't like her and she wasn't from here. Maybe when he grew up and was big and strong he could go out and find her, instead of it being the other way around. Yep. He was definitely a great adventurer. His name would be known far and wide... He just new it.
"I will, I promise!" He yipped and wagged his tail. "You do to, 'kay?"
