the power of her Zanpakuto deals with bones mainly the spine. They don't came from the ground or dead things but the Zanpakuto making them. They can be in any size or length.

in this for her arms are covered with bone like gauntlets. With one movement of her arm she can make an army of skeletons to fight for her. It all so has the some of the powers her shikai has like with the summoning bones.
