So, I've been thinking about using this image for my backpiece:

But, I think it needs something in that one area (the one circled in green, in case you couldn't tell. wink )
I want something that could maybe incorporate the dripping blood, maybe catching or absorbing it.
Does anybody have any ideas as to what I should put there?

hmm potentially this is one bad a** awesome tat...

that spot wud be kind of the small of ur bac or around there... depending on wat kinda meaning u wanna add into it theres alot u cud do.

that spot seems where that typical lower bac tattoo goes and leaving it as void space could be an interesting scew on that.

As for something catching it, probably a goblet of shallow basin of some sort, maybe a light brass colour similar to the accents in the rose.

Adversely you could hav a small silohetted (spl?) figure walking in that gap. it wud giv the image multiple themes of the structure of an arch symbolising some sort of state change to or from something significant with the blood coming down as a reference to the sufering that needs to be indured or something along those lines.

or maybe dripping down to another rose. blood dripping from one to another, kind of a sharing of life and dependancey on someone or something higher or watever, spin it how u want.

kind of hung over so i cant really giv it too much thought for now. hmm wat were you leaning towards?

Wow, that silhouetted figure is actually a great idea. I never would have though of that. I kind of thought of a goblet or bowl too, maybe kind of tipped over to keep the flow going, but I may investigate this figure idea further. It's really starting to appeal to me. Thanks. biggrin

haha hmm yea i kinda randomly plucked that idea out from a scene from the movie silent hill when the girls dancing in blood rain in the middle of a church.... but still that kinda thing just in black cud look interesting. and havin the goblet tipped so its pouring out wud be interesting too altho u gotta think about which direction u want it to tip out and how far it will go. depending on how big the tattoo is this mite end up flowing onto a butt cheek which isnt neccesarily bad but its usually one ppl giv a bit more thought before trying. altho that being said if u do choose that kinda design and it does go that far think to hell with it i want the tattoo. i got a butt tattoo idea i want done.

Well, the thing with the silhouette instantly reminded me of a couple lines from a song that really means a lot to me: "There's nothing like a trail of blood to find your way back home."

So I started thinking about it later, and came up with the idea of a trail (of blood, maybe), going off into the distance between the skulls, and a silhouette of a person walking along it.

sounds awesome. make a firm image of it and mull over it for a while. let it really solidify in ur mind. Its a major peice and u hav to be totally devoted to it. if ur happy with it go for it. good luck. and remember once its does we want pics haha.
