Miki was kind enough to make a subforum for this topic, so I'm taking the liberty of moving it there.

Thanks, guys. ^^

It's not bad but I think they got carried away with the slow moving parts.

I liked it, except for two things: One, the gars were a let down..werent they always described as Winged-Boars? I wanted to see that. And two, Adie wasn't a sorceress...the Adie from the books would never have let a D'haran soldier destroy her house like that. Otherwise, I love it so far, changes and all.

I really don't like Richard's character developement, thus far. He's whiny and immature. Which is never the way I saw him. I personally don't think he's rugged enough, but he's hot, so that's all good. And the fact that he didn't already have the Book of counted Shadows memorized.....I have no idea how they're going to make that work, later on. Who knows...they might surprise me. Kahlan also doesn't seem to be able to wear her confessors' face in the heat of the moment, for some reason. The scene where she leave's the table, at Chases' house. Perhaps that's accurate to the book, I really don't remember. But it didn't seem to suit, whatsoever. The rest of the stuff, I can live with. I actually kind of favor Zedd.

I really didn't like Zedd. The character just doesn't seem to match up.

The fact that Richard's dad was still alive doesn't sit well with me. Nor the gar.

I dunno. Just...overall. The series just doesn't seem to match up with the books.

The more I try not to compare the show to the books the more I like the books. I actually kind of like zedd too, he has his funny parts.

I like the show apart from the books, its kind of interesting how unexpected things happen, if it was too true to the books then I would already know what to expect all the time and that wouldnt be as fun.

Thanks so much Abyssinian for moving the thread ^_^

ok I cant stress saying this enough -.-
it is impossible to make the series straight into a tv series...so you cannot watch legend of the seeker with the books in mind or else of course its gonna suck.

You have to watch the series FOR the series...I find craig horner to be a great richard and at times I question it but I mean he seems like a logical pick right now.
The girl who plays kahlan is doing fairly well havent seen much of that confessor calm but perhaps we will see more of it down the line.

the slow motion scenes are ok I mean they may be overused to some but I mean it keeps everything interesting...if it was real time fighting with the slowdown time you would be able to see the coriagraphed fighting so as they slow it down it takes you out of that perspective and really throws you into the fight.

so far I am really enjoying the series and look forward to the rest.
also I really hope they pick it up for another season.

As much as I would love to give it as much credit as I can, it really doesn't deserve much. And this was predictable. If you're a fan of Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules the TV series, then you will love this. Because Legend of the Seeker is made by the same people. But for everyone else, especially SOT fans, its indescribably bad.

In the other SOT guild, we have tried to view it from every perspective, give it every bit of credit we can, but it just cannot be done. Everything about the SOT series that we love has been obliterated.

It is a series, based on the SOT series. True. Terry Goodkind was overseeing its production. True. What was the point of the mini-series? To put vision to the books and extend the world Goodkind created to the masses. This has resulted in only failure.

Well, at first I was really let down by it. But I think they really got Denna and the mordsith down really well. It's getting better. You can't think of it as being exactly like the books, because it can't be. But I think of it almost as another version of the story written by Goodkind. He's very hands on with the series.
