What a neat new way to reach others! A Manga translation of our Bible!
My friend and I were joking around about this topic almost a year ago- A Manga translation of the Bible. Granted, it was completely based on sillyness with text like 'Surely I say unto ye dudes' and 'For if any dude looks upon another dude's woman', etc. etc. The sillyness goes on.
But then when I saw this at my nearest NorthWestern Bookstores I screamed! I was all, "Mooooooom! They beat me to it!!!!!!"
But seriously, I almost jumped through the roof with excitement.
Personally, I think it's coolbeans. =]

I haven't read it, so I can't say wether or not it's good in actuality, but I think it's an excellent idea. Kids usually aren't interested in reading the Bible because it involves, well, reading. Many kids don't feel it's worth it. This, however, seems more appealing.
On a similar note, I've always told my friends that I'm going to publish my own paraphrased translation of the Bible, saying things like, "And then Paul wrote them a letter saying, "beotches, you best be behavin' yo' selves." and stuff like that. I feel summaries of the Bible told in a more modern vernacular would be more appealing, no? It keeps my friends interested, anyway.

Wow, I'd want to see that bible! XD It's sounds amazing!
I'm sure a modernized translation of the bible would be awesome. Probably why they've got The Message around. Personally, I never could focus while reading KJV because I got lost in all the 'thous'. I'm sure that's what turns a lot of people off about the bible, since they think of that translation more often.
But yeah, an appealing format never hurts, and it's not like it's wrong, either. After all-

I own the first two!!
I only have the first two of the Bible manga series, and I have the manga Messiah.
They're very good, and trully tell the history as if you were reading the bible [only with pictures].
The bible manga series is more humorous, to try and attract the attention of younger teens, but the Manga Messiah is targeted towards teens and up.
I approve of them and feel so happy that there are graphic novels out there that are truly Christian based, and not misleading like so many other mangas out there that seem like they might be God-based, but are farthest from that.

I looked at the preview on the Next website and was glad they were correct in the placement of the nails during the crucifixion. DX Strange thing to be happy about, but I'm happy nonetheless. (It was through the wrists! Not the hands!) See tHe BeNefIts

It could go reallly good or really bad. If things are acurate and they go directly by the bible, i supose it could be pretty good. But if they twist things around and make it all messed up, it wont be good at all. I love manga myself, but for some reason, im not getting good vibes about it. I could be completely wrong though. It just..i dunno. Hard to explain i guess.
