Standing in the corridoor, a young girl stood staring at the various notice boards for clubs and other special extra curricular activities to be held throughout the year. It wasn't even that she really cared about such events. She already had plenty "projects" of her own on her plate, but curiosity killed the cat and she was about as feline as anyone could get. After about ten minutes of a glazed over, icy stare at the notice board, the girl just chuckled and walked away.

Amidst the walk she tugged loosely at the puffed and frayed skirt she wore and untangled the chains that had continuously gotten caught on her luggage. You’d think it wouldn’t be such a bloody hassle to walk down a bus lane and not get caught on any of the seats, but noooo! There’s always at least one that grabs a chain or loose piece of fabric and sends you flailing to the ground to be laughed at. She dressed for murder, not school activities like ‘Fashion Club!’ or ‘The Library Hangout!’.

"And still, they request I be a student council representative..." she muttered over the light footsteps that tapped against the freshly polished floors.

It wasn't really a wonder why either- last year her popularity rate made her a guru. Not only was this girl a bloody genius, she was not short, fat, nerdy, did not wear dorky glasses or suspenders, have a comb over, or even really act smart. She was the kind of person who seemed to have it all in balance, but truly there was a little more going on. Inevitably, being a student council member was like being black and taking yourself to a KKK hanging- just to see how long you'd last. She always wound up in their stupid schemes anyways. Grade ten it was a Valentine Auction, of course those who were put up for auction were to be volunteers- but when the council said Volunteer they most certainly meant - 'Forcefully Agreed'. The last thing she would want is to be put up in their auctions... this year, it was a lie low and walk away.

As had been discovered the year before, there were many more important things to be going on throughout her life and she wanted as less attention as possible. Maybe dorky glasses and suspenders weren't such a bad idea after all.

A ways away was her dorm room which probably at one point in time had numbers on it until they were knocked off over the years. The janitor and the maintenance man always seemed to be slacking in the male dormitories, but rarely was it ever the female dorms, so she supposed it was mildly surprising to see the numbers still missing. The girl didn't mind it however, it made her room a bit more alluring considering its small size and lack of privacy-her room mate had no sense of the word "knock" last year, and this year would probably withold the same catastrophic events. Expecting there to be another person in the room already, she was a bit surprised to see it completely empt and without any garments or signs of a room mate.

“Looks like I’m on my own for a while,” she mumbled scratching her arm and setting her book bag down on the floor. It wasn’t such a bad thing though, the room was already too small for one, shoving that other girl in here again would kill one of them in the end.
