I read this recently when I was taking another look at a book I have. It's about Pyramus and Thisbe, two neighbors from Babylon. The became lovers; however, their parents would not let them marry. The two continued to meet in secret, and one night agreed to see each other at a tomb outside the city. Thisbe arrived first, and waited for Pyramus until she saw a lioness that had just returned from hunting. She hide in a cave but dropped her veil, which the lion mauled and left bloodied on the ground. Pyramus finally arrived to find Thisbe's veil, and, thinking she was dead, stabbed himself beneath a nearby mulberry tree. Up until that time, mulberries had been white, and the blood pouring from Pyramus' side stained the berries the red color they remain today. Thisbe returned to the site, found her dead lover, and killed herself with his sword. When their parents found them, they buried their ashes together in the same urn.
I'm not sure why I like this story. Maybe 'cause it involves fruit. I love fruit x.x…Er, I suck at explaining things, if anyone notices something I've missed, well, sorry. Oh right, uh, anyone else like/read/know anything about it?

I think I've heard it somewhere, but I can't remember where. It sounds like an older version of Romeo & Juliet. Now it's going to drive me crazy until I find it again...
