Have any of you heard of this story? There are lots of variations, I'm sure. This is my favorite:
One night, a young man goes to a party at a local school. He meets a beautiful girl wearing a white party dress and they dance late into the night. The only unusual thing he notices is how icy cold her hands are. At midnight, he offers her a ride home. She accepts and when she shivers after getting into the car, the guy lends her his jacket. When they get to the driveway of an old-looking house, she gets out and goes inside. The boy goes home but returns to the house the next day to retrieve his jacket. When he rings the door, an older couple answers. Upon hearing his asking about the girl, the boy is told that she is in the cemetery nearby. He goes there and discovers his jacket neatly folded on a tombstone. The inscription on the stone says that a girl died when she was hit by a car after a party... 50 years prior to the night before.
PS: If someone thinks this should be in the urban legends category, please move it...

I have never heard of this story before but I like it too! Kinda sad and sweet the exact same time. I don't think it counts as an urban legend though... then again when i think of urban legends, I think of scary, you're-gonna-die stuff.

I'm from Chicago. The home of this story.
Don't believe it, it's bunk. There are plenty of Chicago stories I could tell you that have stock. This is the old urban legend though.
There is one siting, however, that I really can't shrug off... There is a possibility thought, a good one, that it never happened....
One night, while driving, somebody called the police after seeing a strange figure inside the cemetery shacking the bars. He thought somebody was locked in. When the police went there, however, they found no one there... But hand prints burned in the bars.
Of course, there are no pictures and all we have to go on is parts of the bars had to be replaced.... But the average woman would have been too short to reach where they were....
