I was listening to the radio the other day, and that song, I think it's called "What if you're wrong?" was on. The verses give arguements against Christianity, like what if Jesus was just a really great teacher, not the Son of God like he claimed? Then the chorus asks, well, what if you're wrong? But that song leaves me to think that the other side would simply reply, "Well, what if you're wrong? Then what?" And it got me thinking: what if we are wrong? I mean, I have no clue who in their right mind would make up a religion with strict rules like Judeism, and then why some other guy would come along and act the way Jesus did unless it wasn't all true. But if we were wrong, what have we lost? Nothing really, I suppose. I mean, Christianity has done nothing but good for me. It has given me hope, and a sense of reassurance. It has motivated me to become a better person, and to try and love and help everyone as much as I can. If death is the end, like athiests claim, and this life is the only time we have to make a difference, I wouldn't be disappointed with the fact that I chose to follow Jesus. And I wouldn't want to change a thing.

< Crush>//< Deviant>//< Comment> Questing:You've got a good point.
I've had my own doubts. Just this summer I was spiritually dead and started to wonder- what if it's all a sham? what's the point in 'believing' then? 'This is what happens when you hang out with similarly spiritually dead people.' Something I'd always heard and never heeded. My heart and mind were separated in a battle against each other. On the one hand I wanted to believe, on the other I found no point in it.
Eventually God started smacking me upside the head with one thing after another and I found my way back to Him- heart AND mind. But you have a good point...
Even if, by some freak chance the atheists win in the end- why bother worrying about it? why care? It's given me hope, love, and peace. Given me something the believe in and lean on. I want to die believing in something greater than myself, I want to die knowing that I actually LIVED for something, that I had a purpose...
Life's a lot nicer when you believe there's a purpose for it, instead of it all being just a big accident.
I won't say that Christianity, if (again, by some freak chance) nothing else, only makes lives better. Because it doesn't always. We're persecuted, ostracized, arrested, murdered, tortured... Our families are forced to practice this faith in secret, our names are slandered... Christianity isn't always a picnic. Thank God in America we have religious freedom. But even then, we're the targets of society.
But when I say 'life is nicer', I mean that in some part of your heart, no matter what, you're still joyous.
Isn't it nice that, because of who and what we believe in, we want to spread that joy?
There's a new song out by Relient K that says "I don't want to say I'm right, I just want you to know." I think that sums up my state/approach/veiw in sharing Christianity with others now. =] See tHe BeNefIts

~I think everyone will always have a day when doubt comes against them. But when ever I am challenged about my faith, I always think back to those times God answered prayers miraculously. That time I cried out for peace and it fell on me instantly. That feeling when I worship, of warmness, the voice that answers when I have questions. Back when I was like.. 12ish. I prayed and prayed for piano lessons that wouldn't cost a penny. Yeah, it was pretty insane. Mom and Dad simply couldn't add it to the budget and said that if I were to get piano lessons, it would have to be a miracle. And God answered that prayer with a miracle. Can you believe that? Someone we already knew ended up being a piano teacher, she need a baby sitter for 2 hours every week, so in exchange she gave me my first piano lessons. I'll never forget it. Especially because it seemed so impossible at first.
With evidence like that it's hard not to believe. ^_^~
