I've heard it used a lot, but I still have absolutely no idea what a stove-pipe jam is.
I had a feeling it was when the bullet got shoved in, didn't go into the chamber and was just pointed upwards above the chamber.
Am I correct? Or am I a ******** idiot?

From what I've been gathered, it's when the bolt closes on a shell mid-ejection, and the bolt gets propped open. Used to happen to my mom's Star PD all the time. She got DAMN fast at a rack-tap-bang drill.

CptBlackKawk Oh, alright. I get that every so often on my .22...But, I get the bad jams like I was describing in my first post with the 30 round mag. I get that with the last round on my M44. Usually it's the magazine's fault. Does it have fins on the sides you can bend to adjust?

It's when the action traps an empty shell as it's sticking upwards like the pipe on a stove. Makes a lot of sense, really. But it can also catch it horizontally as long as it's almost out.

Maybe you could try a friend's or something, see if that helps.

Well, there's just one little problem. Remington hasn't made any metal mags for the 597, yet. The only one who does is some random guy doing it out of his home in ******** Britain or some s**t, so it'd be expensive as HELL.

Well, if a plastic mag works fine in his gun and not in yours, you can say it's the gun. If it's ******** in both, you have your answer.

Whether it was made by the Brit you're talking about I'm not sure. And I can't imagine my parents paying more than $20 for one. I got it at either Fleetfarm or Wal*Mart. ... if you don't know what Fleetfarm is I'm not quite sure what to compare it to. They supply farm stuff as well as bulk items and firearms. One trip, I got a Mosin Nagant M91/30 and a 3 lb bag of gummy worms, they also had a can of 7.62x54R.
