Love at First Sight?

In the year of 2008, on a bright and sunny day in November, students would go to school, like they were supposed to. Like other schools, Gradwitch High School had all groups possible, including babes, cheerleaders, bookworms, and football players. The football player, Jake Williams, is insanely popular, liked by everyone, except a bookworm, Wendy.

Wendy was your average bookworm, always in the library, reading or taking out books. She would do her homework, and answer questions, but she was extremely quiet, and didn’t have a liking to the popular kids. The bell rings, and everyone dashes out of their classrooms, Wendy leaves immediately with the rest, and walks into the library. A couple minutes after, Jake slyly entered the library, sitting at the same table as Wendy, looking at the homework. He smiled, and asked, “So...What’s our Science homework tonight?” Just as Wendy was about to answer, two girls entered. The first one was a blonde girl, wearing a cheerleader uniform. She was Cindy, captain of the cheerleading squad and Jake’s girlfriend, who have now been dating for two months. Cindy smiled, as she linked arms with her best friend, Stacey. All boys around her, or even passed her would call her a babe. She was admired by others, or hated, because of their personality, or even their looks.

They both, laughing at some joke, entered the room, and went over to Jake, and sat on his homework. Wendy immediately stood up, and walked to the other side of the room, sitting, reading her latest book, Twilight. Jake sighed, and then smiled, as he saw his hot girlfriend moved from his homework, to his lap. She smiled, and talked to him and Stacey for a little bit. Jake, completely zoned out, knew what to do. He said, “Cindy, baby, I have to go.” Cindy made a sad face, her mouth into a disfigured frown. She replied, “O.K. See you at Justin’s tonight?”

“Yup. Like always,” He smiled, and felt a sudden kiss, but didn’t feel a spark in it, like he has at the early of their relationship. He stood up, and noticed that Wendy left the library. He sighed, and exited to room, quickly finding Wendy by a local bubbler.
He smiled, and quickly went toward her and said, “Hey.” Wendy wiped her mouth, pulling her glasses up, and her eyes widened. She looked at him, completely silent before replying, “Uhh...Hi.”

“What’s up?”

“What do you want?” Wendy asked back, adjusting her glasses once more.

“I…I was just feeling a weird vibe from you in the library…You didn’t want to talk to me,” He answered sadly, looking through her glasses into her eyes.

“Really,” She spat sarcastically, as she turned and walked away, being quickly followed by Jake once again. Wendy heard the footsteps, carefully, and snapped, “What do you want?!”

Jake was completely stunned by the question, but took a step closer to her, locking her eyes with his. “I…I ditched my girlfriend.”

“Why would I care?”

“We don’t seem to spark anymore,” He said, as Wendy remained silent, this time letting him talk. Wendy looked at her watch, seeming that it was almost time for her next class. She looked back up to him, noticing that he took another step closer to her saying, “But…I like this other girl, she is sweet, smart, and very cute, but remains to herself…”

Now Wendy became curious. “Who is it,” She asked.

Jake wrapped his arm around her waist, finding her hands along with it. He smiled and replied sweetly, “It is you.”

(Here's a story I wrote up when the moment hit)

A bright shine filled unwanted eyes as a small moan escaped from a chapped mouth, a black cat scampered by as a body moved turning on it’s back and sat up.
The light exposed the body’s features, revealing a bare chest, not too finely tuned, but enough help the body up. A pale hand gripped the wall pulling the body off the ground.
“Ugh.”
The groan was more from the light than the pounding in it’s head.
Shut eyes open revealing green eyes, slightly covered by brown bangs, the body sniffed before looking around.
Garbage cans, trash and one hobo was what lied in it’s field of vision.
“Hey.”
The body looked up to have it’s vision blocked by something dark, it reached up and pulled what blocked it’s vision, before looking at it.
It was a shirt, the body put the shirt on pulling it down before looking up at the speaker.
A girl, looked around her later teen years was staring at the nameless and somewhat alive body with bright blue eyes. The body stared back and blinked twice before sniffing and speaking, it’s tone that of a boy leading onto a man, more mid pitch than high or low.
“Sin, hey,”
The girl moved red hair out of her face and held her hand out.
“Come on, aren’t you two young to be drinking anyway?”
“Seventeen the new twenty-one, love,”
“Very funny Sal, now come on.”
The body identity returned upon hearing it’s name. Sal Hammeride, seventeen years old. Male, brown hair, standing about six feet tall thanks to boots.
Sal shook his head and stopped, causing Sin to stop with him, Sin took the opportunity to make sure she didn’t forget anything of his attire.
She scanned him for a moment, she looked at the short sleeved black shirt he wore, courtesy of her. His black pants with a silver chain hanging out, and black boots, with red laces, she nodded and looked back at his face, the color or what little of it, had left Sal’s face, his hair was dirty and messy, she walked around to his back and lifted his hair up since it went down to his neck at the back of his neck.
“They didn’t brand you, so you must have been able fight back,” Sin said.
Sal knocked her hand away and turned to her before slightly lifting her black sweater to reveal a red brand with a brand inside a circle with a line through it.
“Unlike some people.”
She knocked his hand away and lowered her sweater.
“Cut it out, last thing I need is attention gathered, because you can‘t watch yourself,” Sin said her eyebrows drawing down at him.
“It’s not like you have anything to show anyway.”
The ground soon found Sal again as he watched as black sneakers and blue jeans walked away from him mumbling incoherent things, probably something directed at him, Sin wasn’t one for patience.

“Here.”
Sal caught an ice pack and placed it against his head, while Sin sat down in nearby armchair, worn out since it had come from the dumpster.
“I hate blue,” Sal said commenting on the color of the ice pack.
Sin ignored him and started going through the mail which laid on a nearby coffee table.
Sal’s eyes opened partially and he scanned the room, it was a small room, the kitchen was a part of the living room, separate by cabinets and a long oak counter, though small, it nourished the both of them. He eyed the stove and noticed there wasn’t food on it, nor the microwave, and looking at the fridge, he remembered the only thing in there were carrot’s and he hated them.
His eyes scanned the rest of the room, he saw the door to the bathroom slightly ajar, revealing it’s colored tiles, continuing, he noticed the wallpaper of the walls, white with blue lines. Sin’s decision. he wondered why she always won at rock, paper, scissors, he wanted black wallpaper with flaming skulls.
His eyes past Sin who threw a letter into the accumulating pile next to her, bills he assumed, his eyes hit the small rectangular TV sitting on the old coffee table, the remote was lost somewhere in the mess on said table.
His eyes continued on their journey until they reached the balcony, finishing the survey of the room he closed his eyes again.
He was currently laying on the only thing used for sleep, a sofa bed that barely fit two people, not that Sin would share a bed with him anymore anyway. Not since she came home herself completely out of it and had climbed in, then hit him for climbing in with her.
Besides, the two had a steady relationship, he hated her, and she hated him, but it was a special kind of hate. One that allowed them to the co-exist together.
“Sal,” Sin said catching Sal’s attention.
“Don’t speak so loud.” Sal said moaning. “And what?”
“We’ve been partners for awhile now correct?”
“Yeah…over two years….why?”
“Well, as my partner, we divide payment from our missions correct?”
“…What’re you getting at?”
“You have enough money to drink yourself into a mini coma when we haven’t had any jobs for a month….and I know for a fact that you don’t save it. I also noticed that my stash seems lower, did you take from my stash?”
Sal took the ice pack off his head and sat up looking at Sin with an innocent look in his eyes, placing one hand over his heart, he turned his head from her and closed his eyes.
“Sin, how could you assume such a thing. That hurts me. I thought our friendship was more than that. I thought my roommate had more faith in me than that.”
“The only reason we’re roommates is because you don’t feel like paying for an apartment yourself, and the boss wants us near each other in case a mission comes up. This isn’t free will.”
“For me it is,” Sal said turning his attention back to her. “I love you Sin, like me own sister.”
“You killed your sister.”
“Like me own mother.”
“You’re an orphan.”
“Like a lover.”
“You want me to shoot you don’t you.”
“With bullets of trust. Yes Sin.”
“…..You owe me fifty bucks, I want it by tomorrow.”
Sal sighed and put the ice pack back on his head, and took in the silence that is their apartment.
….until a loud ringing interrupted it, Sal grabbed a nearby ashtray to hurl at the demonic device but Sin got to the phone before the ashtray did.
“Double S, how can we help you today?”
Sal chuckled to himself hearing the forced happy go lucky in Sin’s voice, a glare from Sin made him turn over on his side away from her.
“Yes…uh-huh…okay…right away….alright.”
“Come on Sal, we just got a job. Missing person.”
Sal waved his hand and shuffled a little to get more comfortable, that failed as the earlier thrown ashtray hit it’s target, AKA Sal’s head.
Sal quickly sat up and started to throw it back when his body reacted first, catching the jacket hurled at him by Sin.
“Hurry up, our clients at the Milltown café downtown. We have to take the bus, because your drunken escapades lost the car.”
Sal shrugged as he put on the brown jacket and checked the pockets for any extra cash, nothing.
Sin opened the brown door, the salvation to Sal’s long day and his second favorite color besides red. He followed Sin out the door closing the door behind him.
