No I have not read the book(s), nor will I. Why? I hear about it so much that I've grown to hate it. That, and I think these have some truths in them. Sense when do Vampires sparkle? Vampires don't sparkle. I know I'm gonna get some hate for this, but I don't care. It needs to be said. razz

"This thing...uh...got any bite to it?" "If nothing else, it's...flashy."
And the whole ***** thing.
But, sadly to say, I have actually read the books (it was a dare). I still hate them either way. The idea of sparkly vampires made me want to go kill someone slowly with a rusty spork. I still do. I'd have fun with it too...
"Oh, good..." "You love it, I know."

Haha, thats funny =]. Yeah, that is mostly true. Mostly because its kinda exaggerating and propoganda-ish. But yeah, she has a kid with the vampire and her best friend falls in love with it, but its imprinting. Its involuntary, and its okay because the friend doesn't age and the baby ages very quickly, so they'd be the same age very soon. He only wants to protect her, not anything romantic. I loved the books before the entire world started flipping out about them. Now, its a little annoying, but they are still good books. Not for people who get bored easily, but if your patient it gets good. Just because everyone likes it doesn't mean you should hate it. Read it first, then you cant hate it. Be fair to the books.

I actually wasn't talking about Jake and Nessie, even though I really don't like that 'pairing'. *****, according to the law, is when an adult has any sort of intimate relations with a minor. Even though Edward is only physically 17, he was still born in...1901? So Edward kissing Bella is technically ***** class="postcontent-align-right" style="text-align: right">"Oh, good..." "You love it, I know."

I can't. I've heard too many people (girls mainly) blindly praise this book (are there more than one?) that I just want to go on a homicidal rampage.

@stickey Oh, okay. Well yeah, that's true. Technically he is over a hundred, but in a few hundred more years their ages won't matter because she'll be hundreds as well. It could be *****, and I think Edward is 17 for that reason, so that its not technically illegal for them to be together. But still, love is love, and he's living as a 17 year old in school and all that.

Well he may be living as a 17 year old but that doesn't make him one by any means. And really their ages stopped mattering after she turned 18 anyways. I know love is love and you can't help it and all that. I just felt like pointing that out ^^;

I know you've already said you won't read them, but you really should. I hate the books myself, but decided not to be an a** and actually gave myself time to read most of the books before I actually made my decision on whether or not they were worth the read. Anyway, if you're having a heated discussion with a rabid Twilight fan, you can have sound arguments and actually know what you're talking about.

I read the books, and thought they were okay. Only okay. I don't really understand the big hype over them, or why people claim they are the "best books ever." Sure, they're fun to read on a day when you have nothing better to do, but they aren't really that good. :/ Even with all that said, I don't think it's fair to hate them when you have not read them. I can understand a mild dislike for the books, or even just hating the fangirls, but you should read them just so you know exactly what you're hating on. Eh...sorry for the rant, guys. sweatdrop

cirque du freak has nothing to do with this, lol.
Yeah dude, go to the library and read at least a few chapters before you HATE it. Fangirls can be hated. They -mostly- only like it for sexy edward and sparkling vampire, etc etc. But the books themselves are good. Not GOOD good....but still.

Yeah, you wouldn't like it even if you read it cause it is definately a chick book. Trust me on this. I felt so bad for my brother cause I wanted to go see the movie and it was at night so my mom made him go with me (she's afraid to let me go out by myself at night cause I'm pretty small and some one might kidnap me or something) and I figured "ok they know guys are gonna be drug to this thing by their girlfriends so it wont be so bad, they'll put more action and stuff in for them right?" and that he might actually enjoy it a little maybe. NO. Not even 5 minutes into the movie I turned to him and said "I'm sorry dude, I've made you go see a chick flick." Yeah, so now he says he's never going to the movies with me again.
