Sighing happily Ama was having the most wonderful dream. Both herself and Asriel were playing in the rain. They were playing tag and having the best time in the world. Laughing she had fallen and gotten her coat dirty and so Asriel rolled around in the mud as well and they both laughed so hard. Sadly it was not to last as the sun peaked over the horizon and shone in her eyes causing the dream to go far away into the recesses of her mind never to return again.

Meanwhile, in the North, freezing cold temperatures never failed to make Asriel so shakingly desperate for company. Snow struck harshly here, and this is a place where the sun never shone its fullest. "Am..a..." He faintly whispered. Hopelessly calling out for her so she can comfort him, but the call was quickly evaporated in the tundra storms. Standing next to a completely frozen river, he decided to follow it down. He would track her down and finally tell her his true feelings... So much to say. He didn't have the strength to run, but slowly trudged against the falling snow. He had to at least talk to her...

Feeling as if he were calling out to her Ama stood determined. Where do you think you're going? Ferey watched as the horned helix headed toward the neutral territory. "I'm going to see Asriel." I don't think so. You have to go find your people My Lady. Trying to stand in front of her he was quickly pushed aside by the very set female. "Well I do. I'm going to see him and that's final! You can come if you want but either way I'm going." Breaking into a run she headed toward the territory hoping that by some chance she could see him before she had to face destiny.

Finally, the sun had shown its true colors, but the climate remained cold and chilling. Asriel wondered why he had left Ama's side, and even is looking for her now. He had some feeling of instinct that they may not see each other in a while. Not shivering one bit, he trudged his pads through the snow, one smal step at a time, snow up to his knees now. He gave in his body physically to the snow for a moment, shivering, but looked at the sky. It was clearing up a bit, and it was his only chance. Finally, he shoved his way through, ignoring the chill down his spine. Only Ama lay in his mind, the thought of her laugh and smile... her warmth. Exhaling heavily, the snow began to melt slowly as he approached a southern route towards the neutral territory. He nearly collapsed as the snow's trail ended by the tall grass, but managed to stay standing. If Ama was here too... he had to at least tell her his feelings. His cold fur remained chilled and icy, small frosty icicles hung on his fur. Basking in the sun for a bit, he huffed as he searched for Ama.

She smelt him. It was faint at first. And Ama thought her nose was playing tricks on her but as she ran it grew stronger and stronger. Ferey had stayed at home being to stubborn to accept his lady was growing up without him. 'Well too bad' Ama thought 'I don't need to be babied around. If he wants me to take charge I'll take charge but I can't do that if he's deciding my every move.' Shaking it off she continued to run until his scent was all around her. "He's been this way!" Feeling her heart soar her feet grew wings as she took off faster trying to catch him.

Asriel's instinct trickled over his nose. He simply watched the grass flow with the breeze, and carried a whif of scent. His nose couldn't lie-if it wasn't, it was Ama. She came here as well, really...?
Wheeling around to where the whif came from, he raced like the wolf he was, already tired, but didn't give up. His pads were swollen from the snow he trudged in before, but he didn't want to stop. "I'm coming, Ama, I'm coming..." Finally, his paces slowed, still in a trotting, exhausted, and finally saw a small gleam in the distance-Ama's horn. Shakingly smiling, he ran a few paces more until he placed his neck on her shoulder, standing right before her. "Ama..." He called for her name, nuzzling her neck to be sure she was there. "You... your're here, right? It's not an illusion...?"
He asked painfully, and his body collapsed, head still close to hers. "Ama..." He had wanted to smell this scent so much. A soft, fragrant scent with the unmistakable essence of autumn leaves. Very lovely, but so far to grasp, so... distant: Arrives late, and like it would never return, disappearing as quickly as it came...

Having seen him Ama couldn't stop the leap of her heart and the butterflies in her stomach. Leaping into the air they finally came next to each other. Feeling him nuzzle her neck she growled happily. "I'm here Asriel I'm here."
Watching him collapse Ama began to freak out. For the first time she noticed his worn frame and bleeding paws. "Asriel! Are you ok?" Licking at his neck she laid beside him wanting to help his paws but not wanting to intrude.

Asriel happily smiled faintly. "The winter is harsh to travel at such distances... But as long as I have you before me... I don't care...." Resting close to her, he was too tired and stressed to move about. "You're really here, Ama... I'm so glad, I just had to see you again."
He moved his body close to hers, and licked her neck back. "You seem worried... Of course I'm okay. It only takes a bit to recover during an autumn trip south..." He began to mutter rather recklessly, trying to get his words out. "I just could help but to see you again... I felt like I'd never see you again, it was just so lonely, and.... and..." Exhaling, he saved his breath. "How've you been?"

Giggling Ama smiled the worry slowly melting off her face. "I'm glad you're alright. I've missed you so much. Ferey has been my only company and he's been the most insufferable thing! I feel the need to snap at him at every turn. But besides that I'm fine. But what of you? How have you been?" Never focusing on herself for long periods of time Ama nuzzled closer to him. His warmth a welcoming feeling.

"It makes me feel better when I hear that you're fine." He nuzzled her back, and was slightly worried. "Do you need me to rid of this Ferey?" He joked as he gave her a lick on the cheek.

"I'm glad I can make you feel better. To be rid of Ferey....do not joke about such wonderful things!" Giggling she joked back sighing happily. Feeling his lick made her blush a bright red. "I'm so glad to have you with me even if it's for a short period of time." Licking his cheek back she gazed lovingly at him. He was so strong and wonderful how did she end up being so lucky?

Asriel nodded, leaning his head very close to her's. "Mmm.... you're... leaving me?" He gazed back at her longingly. She was so amazing, but whe she said short period of time.... what did she mean?

Sighing she wished he hadn't heard what slipped from her muzzle. "I don't want to leave you. Not at all but I must. I have to find my family. I just learned I have younger siblings. They need me. I have to find them." Looking at him with hopeful sad eyes she hoped he understood. She couldn't just leave them to die. They were all she had left.......besides him.

Asriel got up. "...I ...can't come with you? Until when will you be back...?" She was his only light. The only thing that remained in his life, called "meaning." There wouldn't be much left to be of if she wasn't there, beside him...

Wanting to stand up with him Ama knew that doing so would only upset him more and possibly make him panick so staying down she gazed at him with sad eyes. "It's far to dangerous Asriel. I want a reason to come back to my home. I want a reason to bring my family here to show them why I love here and not where ever they are. I want to bring them to you. And....."
Pausing she took a deep breath. "I want to show myself and others that I don't have to rely on someone. I can take care of myself even when perils are at hand. That I can think on my feet and fend for not only myself but others like you do so well."
Gazing determindly in his eyes she continued. "It might be awhile. I have to search all the territories. But I doubt it will take very long. Maybe a month possibly two."
