My daughter and I have as many differences in our appearance as similarities Our differences include: she blonde * my hair is very dark brown she's blue eyed * i have hazel eye her skins is lighter then mine but not as fair as the rest of my family
I tend to check in on my daughter as she sleeps, sometimes just to watch her sleep, because it's relaxing for me. (i totally have separation anxiety) II've noticed her eyelids are blue like lack of sleep blue but she sleeps 12hours every night, and sometimes naps during the day. I don't know if it's because of her skin colour and lighter features but i am kinda concerned. It's very hard to get into my doctor office for appointments due to a shortage in my area and i'm not sure if it's a waste of time to take her to the doctors. I'll probably ask my mother about it when she comes by tonight because she and my sister are fair skinned but i'd still like some feedback. I know as a new mother of only 1 child i tend to worry over nothings a lot because i don't know better. so any and all feedback is welcome and encouraged, thanks.

Unless I missed that episode of House, I see nothing wrong with you and your child not matching. You may be just a worried mom, which is a good thing, but unless you have something definate to worry about, I say put your child in our Mother's loving arms, She knows what's best for them. Continue to watch for drastic changes, but keep positive healing thoughts.

Question for you. Are you or your husband Hispanic or African? My husband is a medium skinned Hispanic, and I'm about as white as they come, but one of my girls has Mongolian spots on her bottom. It makes her look as though her bottom is bruised. Also, my mother in law, who is a very pale skinned woman, has dark rings around her eyes. She looks almost as though she has two black eyes, a trait my husband and two of my children have inherited. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless the spots either start to spread or begin affecting her eyesight.

I'm hispanic (from my dad) and irish (my mom and sister are so white if you believed in blockbuster type vampires you'd think they were vampires) but I definitely look hispanic (my mother came back from a friends wedding in mexico and I quote "oh Amanda you should have seen it everyone looked like you!" >.>)

It is natural and nothing to be worried about. It can fade with time as Neko said or, like me, it can last throughout life. I have blue-ish purple-ish eyelids and dark circles under my eyes. I get more than enough sleep usually but it's been that way since I was born.
