I refuse to loan any of my books out. Especially my Twilight ones.

I lent out my Twilight Saga out to 3 people, and everytime I got my book back it turned out worse for wear.
The spines were stretched, pages were ripped, smudges were found on the cover and pages were crinkled. Since the book set cost me over $100 I am pissed. So I can't just easily by another set...
SO no matter how important someone is to me, no more loaning books out. They are staying in my room, on my bedside table, awaitting for me to read them again.

IRA FUSE IS THE VILLAIN IN OUR PLAY!!! Ohmahgawd, and I do his make-up o.O
Sorry... Nothing... Nevermind...

I totally understand and ALSO, it gets me mad when I loan a book to someone, they finish it, and then give it to someone else..Then soon enough the whole class is reading it. That's what happened with the Vampire Diaries and me.

Well.... I have 2 sets, my hard covers... Which I don't loan out, and then the paperbacks which are bent to all hell cause I keep loaning them out. :/

I would do that. But hard covers are a b***h to pay. I was talking to this girl at the BD release party, and she said she paid around $50 for a hardcover of BD.

Agreed with the first post. Everything in that post applies to me too. Only lending them out to people that I can trust, i.e., Mum.

I lent Twilight to a friend and the pages are folded and the front cover is folded as well! Now I am trying to reread them, and people keep asking me for them. If I rented them out for a dollar a day, I'd be freakin' rich.

Ugh! I had an experience with loaning out Breaking Dawn, and now I won't loan the books out to anyone, not even my own sister. She had to buy her own copy xd
So the girl I loaned it to said that she'd get it to me in 2 days.
She kept putting me off.
And she let her sister borrow it!! It wasn't even hers!!!
Then, finally, 2 weeks later, I drove down to her house and demanded my book back.
The thing is,
THE GIRL BOUGHT HER OWN COPY OF THE BOOK WHILE SHE STILL HAD MINE!!
She still didn't return it!!
Ugh! It got me mad.
I don't loan my books out to anyone anymore.

It's really hard loaning books out, especially Twilight lol.
My friend owned all of the books in the series, except her bf had the first one so I just borrowed that one from my other friend.
I was halfway done with Eclipse and she stops letting me read them. I thought it was because of the fact we were going on break for school, but it turns out she had a nightmare about loaning her books...weird right? lol
But. Now I'm number 196 and 171 for holds at the libarary for Eclipse and Breaking Dawn and it sucks! I wish I had money to get my own..
Back to your subject of loaning books, although I don't really have a lot of books to loan, I know my friends are very particular about who they loan them to and how long it takes, ect ect.
So I understand.

I once gave one of my good friends new moon to read and it came back with a tear on its side. I got mad and haven't loaned her a book since. Now I lay down strick, strick rules if my close friends want to borrow my books, they're all weirded out by it. Xp

that's why i bought the hard cover one in nyc, now i have a copy just incase, and i know what you mean, I'm pretty scared to get my New Moon Back since the last book i lent the person, the front page was ripped, but that wasn't brand new.

I still have yet to get that back, and I lent it to her over the brake

and Vanny, just go back to get the book ><

Naw I totally understand not loaning out your books. I don't loan mine to anyone except my friend Daniel and that's only because he has proven to me that he can take good care of things that don't belong to him. If he had damaged them, he would have replaced them with new copies. I don't loan out Twilight or Harry Potter.

I once loaned my special extended edition of LoTR to one guy and it came back with a torn cover. I told him he had to replace it and he gave me a look like "WFT? Hell no!" and refused to pay for a new copy. I told him that he would never borrow anything from me again so don't ask. His girlfriend wanted to borrow my copy of The Little Mermaid with the original coverbox (the one that is insanely rare and very collectable) and I had to tell her no. If he has any chance of getting his hands on it, I won't risk the pride and joy of my video collection being ruined.

Yeh, I loaned my twilight out to a couple of people, and after all that, there's tears and smudges and crap like that. So I thought, right. no one gets to borrow it now! Cause some of the people I lent it to were my close friends!
And still people ask!! sweatdrop
