Hello fellow ShikaNeji fans!!
I would just like to get the word out on something I am doing right now. It has to do with my story, Gentle-Fist Massage: The Series. In case you haven't read it, the complete series is up and running on FF.net; here's the link.

Sadly, the Gentle-Fist Massage series has ended, but as far as ShikaNeji goes. I actually surprised myself when remembering that it had been over a year ago when this whole thing started. Again, I can’t thank you readers enough for giving my story a chance and encouraging me to keep with it, even though a lot of you did hate me for “Life of Shinobi,” but that’s all right. I was expecting that the moment I started writing the first chapter of that one.
Anyway, what this is about is fanart. Now I know some of my readers have to be artists (I hope so, anyway) and I have a “proposal” to give to all artists.
A lot of my reviewers say I have a “natural talent for writing.” I’m not sure if that’s true or not =^^= but what I do know is that I can’t draw worth crap; even stick figures are freaking hard to draw! What I have always wanted was some art to go along with my Gentle-Fist stories, so in lieu of the one year anniversary I came up with a small idea.
The Gentle-Fist Massage Fan Art Contest!
That’s right, I made it into a contest; I will write a one-shot ShikaNeji/NejiShika (whatever the preference) for the winners based on a prompt or situation they come up with.
Here’s what I’m looking for: 1 piece of art for each story, a total of 7.
Multiple Entries will be accepted, but only one per story: if you draw and send me something for Gentle-Fist Massage (the first one) you can’t send another for that story. You’d only be able to do II-VI.
Winners: I will decide one winner for each story. If you entered multiple drawings and I choose yours for one story, you can’t win again. There will be seven winners and they will choose either ShikaNeji or NejiShika and the situation or prompt to have them in. (I might be up to doing a different pairing as well, if you can talk me into it ^_^)
Deadline: I’m giving a long time for this (mostly because of stupid classes, so I’m really busy) so as of now, the drawings must be sent by February 8th, 2009. They can be sent to my e-mail address, which you will get if you PM me and let me know you're serious in doing this and I hope that works. If I can’t upload the picture for whatever reason, I’ll update this page with different instructions.
Any questions? Please ask and I will be more than happy to answer them!
I'm doing this because so far, I've got one* participant. I would love to have more, and it dawned on me that I happen to be a part of a ShikaNeji guild! eek No brainer that I should put the contest up here. sweatdrop
EDIT: *Actually, I now have 2 people wanting to do this!! It makes me so happy! I'll be grateful if more entered, though! Don't be shy!

So...I've been meaning to do this since I read about it when you first posted it, then it never happened and I lost motivation and blah
I just read it again here, though, and decided to give it another shot.

unfortuneately, I has no scanner/ access to one, and my drawings either come out good (which surprises me when they do- I'm all WTF how did I do that?) or epically suck. and its usually the latter. sweatdrop

OMG!!! (and I never say that; I mean in that form lol ) Really, really awesome! I am so glad someone else also decided to participate!! It makes me so happy! blaugh
Again, the deadline isn't for a while, but I also wouldn't worry too much about it. More than likely, if the date is approaching faster than anticipated and you realize that you need more time, get in contact with me and I'd be more than happy to push the date back a little. Since I can't draw, I will be extremely patient in waiting for fanart; I know it can take time. It really isn't so different from writing a really good story; artists just use a different medium than writers.
But thank you again!! Mesa luva you!! And I knew somebody around here was lazynara, but I couldn't remember who! Thanks for clearing that up for me!
Nara_Neji_02: That's all right. Half the time, that's how I feel about some of my stories. I'll go back and read them over just for the heck of it and be like, "Whoa... did I really write this?" It has been said that it's the thought that counts; it certainly does here! I really do appreciate the fact that you would like to join!! It makes me all warm and fuzzy! 3nodding

Isn't there anybody else out there who would like to give this a shot?! Come on, please?? I would really love to have more than just two participants; then it isn't much of a contest....
Again, please don't be worried about the deadline! It can be subjected to change! And also feel free to spread the word to other artists you know who might be interested! I would really love to see more people involved in this!

Sorry. I would enter, but I cannot draw.
Try asking Kyuubi0101 (or 1010, I can't remember) on Deviant Art. S/he's done excellent fanart for the Kindred/Constructive Possession series. If sure if you ask them to read your stories, they might join.

That's the one thing that really stinks on DA, you can't search for the artists. I tried finding the other person who entered the contest, just to get a feel of their style, and I couldn't find them. Grr.
I'll go and try again, though. Maybe I have to get into my profile and start there or something...

Woop! More excuses to draw more shikaneji *fangasms* heart Well XD; I'll give it a go I suppose, if the dealine isn't anytime before the 9th January. If you say it's in Febuary I'd probably manage something ;D I love your works!

redface Thank you. And also thanks for entering! Yeah, don't worry too much about the deadline; like I've said, if the final date is coming up, but you need more time, feel free to get in contact with me and I'd be more than happy to bump the deadline back a bit.
I know writing a really good story can take time, so I understand drawing can be just as time consuming, and since I can't draw I'll be more than patient about this! 3nodding
