I figured I'd just go ahead and start this thread now, even though the release date hasn't been announced yet.

All we know about OVA VI at the moment is that it'll cover the attack on the Hellsing Mansion (i.e., the last half of Volume 6 and the first half of Volume 7) and that the main characters will be Seras, Pip, and Zorin (which means we can probably expect to see them on the covers of the DVDs).

Here's a short trailer for OVA VI which, I'm assuming, was included with OVA V.

I want Seras and the Harkonnen II on the cover...that would look soooooo kick a** biggrin

I was wondering...Will there be a new crew taking over the animation part of the OVAs? I heard something about that some time ago, and it looked the same in OVA V; will we see some possible changes in animation in OVA VI?

Satelite was the old animation studio. It produced OVAs I, II, III, and IV. Madhouse is the new animation studio. It produced OVA V.

I could FEEL something was different, but the animation looked the same. It felt more like what Hellsing is all about: buttload of frenzy, buttload of blood/gore, and a buttload of WTF (like Alucard at the beginning sitting in a chair...wasn't he on the Dimitri when we last saw him? *curious*) can't wait for them to further establish themselves in the next OVA

The animation was slightly better, as it always is. If I were you, I wouldn't expect it to look too different. After all, the animation studio has changed, but the character designer has remained the same.

That's one of the things I didn't like about OVA V. The Willis dream was well done, but entirely out of place (unless Alucard decided to take a nap on the Eagle, which I doubt). They should have included it in OVA IV or not at all (which would have been unfortunate, as moments of comic relief become less and less frequent until the epilogue).

I guess we'll have to see what they are saying. If the dialogue is connected with OVA VI then it's okay with me, but if it's like "we just decided to put Willis in this for no good reason and made up dialog for him" then that would irk me just a bit. I'll give it a chance in hopes it will link with the story of OVA V. The humor aspect of Willis might have been a smart move, since as you said there is less comic relief as we go on until the epilogue. That will probably be the last of the WTF moments...I hope.

If the dialogue during the dream in Volume 5 is any implication of what we can expect in OVA V, then the dialogue doesn't really relate to anything in particular. stare

The next moment of comic relief we can expect is Integra's request for a light for her cigar. After that is Pip's first attempt to kiss Seras. I'm sure that one, if not both, of those moments will occur in OVA VI. After that, there aren't any more moments of comic relief until the epilogue. cry

I guess I meant the more cartoony animation that implies comedy like Willis, Harkonnen, and other chibi-ness. I think if they overdo that, then it would totally confuse me and lose it's seriousness. Comedy in the dialogue is fine, but putting cartoony animation in places where they don't belong aren't.

All in all, I trust that they won't destroy the essence of Hellsing. biggrin

If you recall, both of those upcoming moments include Hirano's characteristic "chibi-ness". It's not nearly as much as in Seras's and Alucard's dreams, but it's still there. We won't see it again until the epilogue.
