I noticed that Rinoa is not talked about often. So, why not talk about her? What do you hate, what do you love? Personally, I like her all 'round. Personality and looks. She's just one of those characters that they make you wanna love.

I have mixed feelings on Rinoa. She's clingy, vengeful, weak-minded... In general, though, I'd say I really like her. She's sweet, friendly, and actually gets Squall to lighten up eventually. I just have to count a few points against her though for her terrible flaws.
Objectively, she's an incredible character. She's completely believable. She has a hidden side that conflicts with her outer personality, but taking everything into account, they come together into a complete, rounded person.
She's also very purty. biggrin

She's very well developed character and a 'nice person'. Someone you could really meet at the street someday.
But.. She has those mannerisms and childish whims from time to time that I can't count anything else but she acting her age. Yes, I like character that is able to make mistakes (actually I love that trait), and not being always composed and cool - and practically, acting as a human.
She is often more sparkly girlie than Selphie. Yet she has a cause and will to change things.
She develops. Weak-willed daddy's girl too grows up a bit during the game and it makes her nice character. After all, I can't really dislike her even if I wanted. She's too much a Person to be judged like that.

Hmmm... Never was a fan of Rinoa. I found her to be too clingy, too much of a damsel, and various other things that I don't feel like typing out.

Nah, Aerith's not like that. At least not in VII she's not; she did annoy me a bit in Crisis Core, though I can't put my finger on why. I don't mind a girl who needs a little help sometimes; everyone does, but if they can take care of themselves in most situations, I think that makes up for it.

Yeah, Aerith was a bit annoying in CC, and i don't get how you see Rinoa as clingy. All I know is she really like Squall (and Seifer for that matter...). But she was never "clingy"

Aeris has always been for me one of those characters I've disliked from the guts. I'm trying to find a reason for it and now I'm playing FF7 again and using her as much as possible. Desensitization treatment...
Martyrdom/tenderness combined to pink and being somewhat too romantic seems to be major turn off.
But that is only one opinion and I could find all those same annoying things from Rinoa also, but its about to where your focus takes place.

I guess my main reason for disliking her is because I remember how she got in the way in the beginning of the story... But whatever. Everyone's allowed to like whatever character they want. smile

Seisoku Yami Yeah, Aerith was a bit annoying in CC, and i don't get how you see Rinoa as clingy. All I know is she really like Squall (and Seifer for that matter...). But she was never "clingy" She's just really dependent on a guy (Seifer or Squall) to always be around to protect her. She won't take no for an answer and refuses to be left behind. There's a right way and a wrong way to go about being tenacious, and she just does it is a clingy way. There's also the time she literally clings onto Squall and will not let him go and is pretty much dragged around as he tries to get away.

Ah, Rinoa. I could never find a reason not to use her. I found her extremely beautiful, an excellent fighter when she's trained enough, and I always used to say that if she were real, I'd totally date her. I love how she can bring out the lighter side of people, like she did to Squall. However, she does have her serious moments, and every word she speaks during those times is said with conviction, and you can't help but listen to her and understand her during those times. I also like the fact that she's fairly independent, and she knows what she wants. I love that in a woman! You know, I never thought about it until now, but Rinoa and my girlfriend are actually quite a bit alike. I guess add that to the reasons I like her.

I adored Rinoa. She was clingy at times, but who isn't? She's an excellent fighter, not to mention I loved her limit break Angel Wing, it came in handy in various fights. Her attitude kind of reminded me of past girlfriends haha, which is a bit nostalgic. In my opinion, she was actually better designed than the other FF women. I think that her look was kind of based off of Tifa, seeing as they do have similar characteristics. The brown highlights in Rinoa's hair was a good touch too.
