Kagome vs. Kikyo - Nevermind not yet.

Alright. As I said before I was going to start threads concerning two characters. Take some of the most commonly said negative things about them, and ya know. Do whatever needs to be done.

Many of us either like one or the other of these two women from the Inuyasha series, but who is really better? Let's find out. We'll be ignoring voices from the anime, they don't matter. Let's first look at a few of the things people say, or might say, about both of them. Remember, these are not in any particular order.

Kikyo
1. She's made of clay.
2. She stole Kagome's soul.
3. She tried to take Inuyasha to hell.
4. She's dead.
5. She's evil.
6. She steals souls.
7. She falls off to many cliffs.
8. She killed two humans.
9. She's not as strong as Kagome.
10. She's so cold and heartless.
12. She never smiles.
13. She wears the same thing every day.
14. She hates Kagome.
15. She's ugly.

Kagome
1. She's annoying.
2. She's weak.
3. She's to clingy.
4. She had to many guys after her.
5. She stole Inuyasha from Kikyo.
6. She's not that strong.
7. She always depends on others.
8. She hurts Inuyasha.
9. She's so perky.
10. She's way to emotional.
11. She has freakishly long legs. (Actually saw this in the Proud to be Anti-Kagome Guild)
12. She's a slut.
13. She hardly ever helps.
14. She caused the Shikon Jewel to shatter.


Ok. That's all I can think of for now. So I'll take the next two posts explaining my view of each thing about them. The third post will be something else to be edited later.

Hokai. Let's get started shall we?

Kikyo(u)
1. She's made of clay.
Wrong! She is in fact NOT made of clay. She is made of grave soil and bones. If she was made of clay she wouldn't be around now would she. One hit and she'd shatter no?

2. She stole Kagome's soul.
Actually. It's a well known fact that Kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyou. So how is it that she stole it when it was hers in the first place? It's merely taking something back that already belonged to her.

3. She tried to take Inuyasha to hell.
Yes she did. But that's because she wanted him to be with her and only her. She wanted him to love only her.

4. She's dead.
That may be true, but then again, she's like a vampire. The living dead! Bwahahahaha! But seriously. When has being dead ever stopped someone?

5. She's evil.
Actually she's not evil. It's mostly a misunderstanding because of the way she acts.

6. She steals souls.
You can't really say she steals them as they are no longer in use when she acquires them from the dead people they come from. The souls have nothing else to do do they?

7. She falls off to many cliffs.
That's just one of those random things that tends to happen. Besides. Lots of people fall off of cliffs, why is she any different?

8. She killed two humans.
First off. The monk she supposedly killed, didn't die. And here's proof. Look here. Now tell me. Does that look dead to you?!

It doesn't actually kill him.


She took the soul, but he did not die. And for all we know, the soul may have been returned.

9. She's not as strong as Kagome.
I actually saw this somewhere. Why they said such a thing is ridiculous. kagome is the reincarnation of Kikyo(u). Kagome inherited any powers she has from Kikyo(u), but Kikyo(u) has retained those powers. She has them and is way stronger than Kagome.

10. She's so cold and heartless.
You would be to if you were dead and brought back to the world of the living. And if you despised the one that killed you in the first place. Yeah. You'd be pretty hateful by then don't ya think?

12. She never smiles.

You can't tell that that is not a smile.

13. She wears the same thing every day.
She's a priestess! Nuns wear the same thing every day and you don't go around complaining about that now do ya.

14. She hates Kagome.
Where has it ever been said that she hates Kagome? She may 'dislike' her, but she doesn't hate her.

15. She's ugly.
Have you ever really taken the time to look at her? If you really think about it, Kikyo(u) is actually pretty. Hell we all know she looks better than kagome does.

Kagome
1. She's annoying.
That may be true, but now a days who isn't annoying at some point?

2. She's weak.
Actually with the powers she inherited from Kikyo(u) she's quite strong spiritually. Physically not so much.

3. She's to clingy.
Lots of people are clingy! What's the difference?

4. She has to many guys after her.
Ok first off, she's a girl. Lots of girls have several guys trying to get her attention. That's how life is these days. Get! Over! It!

5. She stole Inuyasha from Kikyo.
Define stole. Having to steal would be taking posession of. She doesn't own him. Inuyasha just sirta goes from one to the other. You can't say that's stealing if he's the one going back and forth.

6. She's not that strong.
Physically, no. Spiritually, yes. Basically, see number 2.

7. She always depends on others.
Look at it this way. She's from the modern age we live in. We all depend on everyone else. She's no different from you or me.

8. She hurts Inuyasha.
Yeah. But then again, we always hurt the ones we love don't we?

9. She's so perky.
She's a 15 year old in junior high. A lot of junior high kids are perky! yes I know it's creepy but it's true and you know it!

10. She's way to emotional.
Being emotional comes with the package of these modern day people.

11. She has freakishly long legs. (Actually saw this in the Proud to be Anti-Kagome Guild)
It's a known fact that most women in Manga and Anime have long legs. That's just the way it happened. They have long legs, and a small upper body. That's no reason to hate her.

12. She's a slut.

1. A woman considered sexually promiscuous.
2. A woman prostitute.
2. A slovenly woman; a slattern.

To be a slut you have to be what the definition defines a slut as, in which Kagome is not. She is not any of those things it says.


13. She hardly ever helps.
She helps a lot actually. Several times they rely on HER powers to destroy something that just doesn't want to die. Now she doesn't help by running up and hitting them with a stick, but she helps from a distance.

14. She caused the Shikon Jewel to shatter.
That was an accident and you know it. She meant to hit the demon and in doing so it caused the jewel to break. Jewels aren't that hard to break. Hit it hard enough and there it goes!
