My best friend decided that he wanted to go to the next con as Vocaloids, and he's gone through all the trouble to try to match everyone's pitches. So, me being the lucky little bugger I am, got Miku.
And also, since I'm so lucky, I get to help make the costumes. biggrin ; Does anyone have any pattern or fabric ideas? (Especially for Kaito! I've already got half of the Miku outfit, just laying around!)

Ahhh, I cosplayed Kaito with a friend who did Miku. XD The irony. Um, for my costume I used an old lab coat, bought a giant blue t-shirt. and cut up the shirt and arranged the pieces on the coat. It worked really well, actually. *_* Fabric glue is also a huge help, for some of the weird pieces. I was lucky enough to have the rest of the stuff lying around -- including the wig from an older cosplay -- so the hardest part was getting the coat to look good. Also doesn't help that there's no one picture of him that looks like another. XD Trying to find a reference picture for his coat was horrible, so I actually combined a few different ones while making it.
Depending on where you're going, I'd use light fabric, since there's quite a few layers that go into it. Lucky me, I was wearing this during summer and almost died from heat. xD
If you want, I could take pictures of the coat for you. :3
