Overeating didn't happen. I'm surprised. Jess, my daughter, made a great turkey, and we just got done eating half an hour ago, or so. Went for a walk in the nature area of Lodi Lake. We saw a deer hiding in the brush, and a LOT of squirrels. A few of the little rodents threw acorns at us. It was funny. I love the nature area. It's so peaceful.

My neighbor Greg came over last night with a huge load of T-day dinner... turkey (sliced breast, a leg and a wing), gravy, two kinds of potatoes plus yams with yummy sauce, cranberry sauce, what I call Maryland ham (has kale in it), rolls and I know I forgot... dressing, and sweet corn.

OMG, I ate till I couldn't eat anymore. I had yams for breakfast this morning. No more today... I'll have another big dinner tomorrow night and finish it all up (ha!).

I stopped taking the pain pills (for the wbc shot) yesterday, and damn, woke up with a lot of pain this morning, so I'm back on them. Guess I'll take them for another week. Feel better now.

EDIT: OMG,
Pam just brought over a load of turkey and stuff! I will be eating this food for weeks! LOL. (3:20pm, Friday)

good food = win every time. heart

if you need the pain pills, take 'em. don't try to be the brave one and do it without. do what you need to do.

I don't eat meat but my partner does. So we got a 25 pound turkey. He ate some yesterday. Then we picked all the meat off and bagged it up, some for the fridge, some for the freezer. Today he had turkey and stuffing for lunch, then turkey tacos for dinner. I'll probably make him turkey soup next week with the meat I put in the freezer. I stuck the bones in a bag and put them in the fridge. I'll go put them in the woods later this week.

I don't care about holidays as much as he does. He usually talks me into getting a semi-special meal for myself too though. I planned on having monkey bread and vegetables, vegetable gravy, and biscuits. But I completely forgot about the bread, so that's still in the freezer. And I forgot I should have made my biscuits the night before because his turkey took up the whole oven all day. So I ended up just eating broccoli, cheese, mashed potatoes, black olives, salad, and cereal yesterday (not all together...). And it was just the two of us, so it was pretty uneventful.

Pretty chilly here. We got a little snow. I brought some inside for the ferrets to play in.

Do ferrets like snow?
PostPosted: Sat Nov 29, 2008 7:54 pm

We've had the ferrets for less than a year. So this was the first snow they had really seen. We have one ferret who has ADHD or something, and she needs constant stimulation. I've seen videos of ferrets on YouTube playing and tunneling in snow, so we decided to try it. I scooped up some of the snow, put it on a big platter thing, and put it in their playpen. One ferret didn't even have to smell it, or think about it, or anything; he just did a bellyflop right into it. So then I put some snow in a little cat litter box that we don't use. He tried to tunnel in it, but it wasn't really deep enough. There's only about half an inch of snow out there now. But we thought when we get more on the ground, maybe we'll fill the bathtub with it and let them play in it. xp

They have leashes, so we can take them outside, but we've only done that twice. I'm too afraid that they'll slip out of the harness.
