Okies, so, I'm not 'zactly a beginner. I started FFTA once. I stunk at it. I immediately declared it a terrible game and shoved it deep into my pack. Now, I find myself possessed by an incredible urge to play it again (before, it was far too complicated for my taste). So, here I am, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to communicate my experiences to you!

Anyway, here's fer starters. This'll read a bit like a journal, I fear - if yer bored, skip on, but be warned - this'll be where I disseminate my pearls of wisdom and observations on FFTA.

Journal Entry #1: I'MA POKE JOO WIT MA SWOOOOOORD!
So, snowballs are irritating. Got that part. Now, after an all-too-long movie sequence (have you noticed they assume I am retarded, so they make all the text scroll v e r y s l o w l y?)
WOOHOO! Oh wait. A fighter? Hmm, no class selection in FFTA to begin with, eh. I had forgotten that part a bit. Right then. Bumped off the two Bangaa (I love Montblanc, he's invincible in that fight 4laugh )
Now, armed with some knowledge of what I want my characters to develop into, and in command of my clan, which I have named Hellbunny, I take my character (whom I have oh-so-cleverly dubbed Sheef) and convert him into a thief. Bwahahahahaha! *cough*
For my initial setup, I have the following:
1) Sheef
Thief->Ninja, Soldier->Paladin, end up Ninja+Paladin
2) Montblanc
Animist->Gunner, Thief+Gunner
3) Human #1
Black Mage+Blue Mage
4) Bangaa #1
Templar+Dragoon
5) Viera #1
Red Mage+Summoner
6) Nu Mou
Beastmaster+Morpher
to be added later
7) Human #2
Hunter+Archer
cool Viera #2
Assassin+Sniper/Fencer (depending on whether she's melee or ranged)
9) Bangaa #2
White Monk+Bishop
As you can see, I'm very fond of collecting items, so this character collection will focus a lot on stealing everything that's not nailed down, collecting all the monster souls possible, and of course collecting blue magic.
One variation I'm interested in is possibly exchanging Sheef (nee` Marche) for the first Human; in other words, having a Human Thief->Ninja->Soldier->Paladin and Sheef being the Black Mage/Blue Mage. Not sure how Black Mages/Blue Mages hold up in combat, tho. I usually play mages, rogues, or archers in my RPG's, so I think either of those combinations will be what I play with. On the other hand, I haven't used Hunters much, so if Archer+Hunter's are effective, I could make Sheef an Archer+Hunter.
Feedback's appreciated!
