Made a tea for my mom the other day, to combat fatigue and tired-headedness. I mixed about equal red clover and peppermint and (because she gets migraines) a pinch of feverfew and a pinch of stevia to combat the bitterness, and she says it worked GREAT. It has a bit of a funny taste to it- but no nasty aftertaste and she didn't need to sweeten it, so ^_^ Have at 'er!

I'll remember that one. wink Is red clover the same as purple clover when it comes to medicinal properties? I've got big purple clover growing all over the place, but not the smaller red kind.

Catnip would also help in that tea...combat the bitterness (sweeten with honey but never give honey internally to a child) Another slightly off topic tip, if you are ever out of peroxide and alchohol, or just dont like the burn, use honey on open wounds.. it's an antibacterial, and increases healing time... Honey is also a wonderfull shampoo (mix with tea tree oil for dandruff, make it smell lovely with a drop or two of the essential oil of your choice... yaaaayy honey! smile

As in makes it need less time to heal?

I've heard the never give honey to an infant or child thing...but I know my parents gave it to me, and my mom was a nurse, so I think she'd have heard if it was bad. Why are you not suposed to use it? Is this something they've only been saying recently?

There's a poison in natural honey that children under 2 can't tolerate. As our immune systems develop, it becomes less of a threat. At the moment, I can't remember what it's called.
My daughter is 16, and I know I got that warning from her pediatrician, so I think it's been around for awhile.

Maybe I'll try it soon since I'm almost out of shampoo. Also, I just made this recipe a while ago for sort of female type aches and pains with motherwort, red clover, peppermint, and mhyrr. I haven't been able to try it yet since it hasn't sat for long enough and I'm still pregnant for the er.. moment... But afterwards I can't wait to try it. I made it with glycerine so it'll probably be extremely sweet tasting. I made a red raspberry tincture with the glycerine and it tastes sort of like taking a shot of strong tea. I usually wash it down with a sip of juice to get the syrupy aftertaste out of my mouth. I wonder how this latest mixture will taste....
