Gormlaith
Where the forest is thick and rich and where the Crinitian River ends, Gormlaith lives. When you peer down the main road to the city you see two tall trees bent into an arc and you figure "Hey, that's probably the entrance to that totally awesome city!" As you approach the main entrance you notice a woman with a cart of lumber for camp fires.
"Hello there traveller," she says with a bright smile. "I’m selling wood for camps and stove use, would you like to buy some? 50 silver pieces for a bundle!” she explains. But as you look at the bundles, you notice that that kind of pricing is a bit too expensive. “Ah I see, well, lumber is all we have here. So most of what you find in Gormlaith will be a bit more pricey than in other places like Caldon or Lavistad. Our market is also rather limited to other places because we’re so cut off from the rest of the world... but we manage obviously!” she laughs.
“So, you must be new around here! Let me tell you a bit about Gormlaith before you enter. The city is rather large but smaller than Caldon or Russland because it is surrounded by thick forest- forest we’re trying to use wisely. This city is home to many kinds of people, most whom work in lumber production. It is also where the famous tree forts were first spotted, which gave life and reason to the creation of Gormlaith! Most people actually live inside the trees here, as they are awfully huge! You'll notice that everything within this city is made into or around the plant life.”
“If you head north in the city you’ll meet the Crinitian River where a few small lakes and swamps take over part of the city. There you can swim, or, canoe! Actually, because of all the swampish areas, you will have to canoe around town quite a bit in order to get around. You can rent a canoe down this road here for around 75 silver peices,” she explains. “Though some people say they can get em for cheaper, I wouldn’t believe them, lots of those canoes have holes in em.”
“Anyways, be careful and enjoy your stay! If you’re looking for a job head over to forestry office located in city central. Hotels and inns are located around that area as well! Don’t forget to pick up a canoe!” she says as she directs you off into the city.
