Note: This is a game based on White Wolf's Old World of Darkness, Vampire: The Masquerade . All clans, Disciplines, and sects are their property.Introduction to the World of DarknessThe world of darkness is much like ours. There are all the same cities, states, countries, continents, and figureheads. There are incredible medical advancements, TVs, and infant space exploration. But the crime and corruption is increased many folds. The shadows have unfathomable terrors, whether a drug deal about to go wrong, or a supernatural horror waiting for its next victim. In this world, which mirrors our own in so many ways, there are vampires in the shadows, creatures who sell their souls for the sometimes empty promise of immortality and power. But the vampires are not just in the shadows of skyscrapers. They hide in biker bars, street gangs, crypts, art museums, and even in the ivory towers themselves. Vampires touch every part of the world, and such a damned creature could only do one thing to anything it touches: humanity withers under the undead hands. Humanity does not know about them, and a great deal of the mythology they do know is off, but this is all just a part of their ploy. In Las Vegas the vampires own the Mirage. From there they run countless other casinos, including MGM. They control escort services, smut stores, strip clubs, dance clubs, white collar offices, taxi companies, and several other businesses of varying intent. Their hands control the flow of trains and airplanes through the area. Las Vegas is owned by the blood suckers, much like any other major city. Welcome to the city of bright lights, when day never truly ends; a city where vampires can experience the light in fashion. The CamarillaLas Vegas belongs to a sect of vampires known as the Camarilla. The Camarilla is more or less a large group of vampires who believe in a universal code of ethics and behavior. The Camarilla formed to keep vampires safe from the Inquisition. It believes that should vampires make themselves known, they will be extinguished, and for the good of vampires everywhere, they uphold what they call the Masquerade. The Masquerade keeps mortals shielded from the truth. Their weak minds would snap, and they would exterminate the entire race. Once mortals knew what to look for, vampires would ash quickly. No heat signatures and easily flammable would make them easy targets. Above and beyond that, the Camarilla emphasizes respecting one's elders and their territory. The Six Traditions of the CamarillaIt is expected all members of the Camarilla know and follow these six traditions, or rules. The first step into becoming a member in the Camarilla is almost always reciting these six and their meaning to a Prince. The First Tradition: The MasqueradeThou shalt not reveal thy nature to those not of the Blood. Doing so shall renounce thy claims of Blood. In short, if you reveal you're a vampire to someone who is not, you've given up your chance at unlife. There are some exceptions, but neonates, young vampires, should not worry themselves with such exceptions. The Second Tradition: The DomainThy domain is they concern. All others owe thee respect while in it. None may challenge they word in thy domain. Each city is ruled by a Prince. Listen to him, respect him, and do as he tells you. If you enter the domain of someone else within a city, respect that individual's wishes as well. The Third Tradition: The ProgenyThou shalt sire another only with permission of thine elder. If thou createst another without thine elder's leave, both thou and they progeny shalt be slain. Don't create other vampires unless the Prince says it's okay, or you and your childer shall be ashed. The Fourth Tradition: The AccountingThose thou create are thine own childer. Until thy progeny shall be released, thou shalt command them in all things. Their sins are thine to endure. Whatever you do wrong, your Sire will suffer until you're a member. Likewise, until your childer is a full member of the Camarilla, whatever crime he commits, you also suffer punishment for. The Fifth Tradition: HospitalityHonor on another's domain. When thou comest to a foreign city, thou shalt present thyself to the one who ruleth there. Without the word of acceptance, thou art nothing. Present yourself to the Prince. If you don't, he has the right to ash you. The Sixth Tradition: DestructionThou art forbidden to destroy another of thy kind. The right of destruction belongeth only to thine elder. Only the eldest among thee shall call the blood hunt. Don't kill others without permission from the Prince. This protects you as well, so as long as you watch your footing, you should be safe from final death. Or at the very least, whoever ashed you will be hunted down and ashed as well. The SabbatThe Sabbat is an angry group of vampires. Humans are cattle, and they should be treated as thus. The vampires should rule in the open over the mortals. The Sabbat and the Camarilla are natural enemies. However, in Las Vegas there is an unusual, uneasy trues. Any who break it, by either breaking the Masquerade, which the Sabbat have never truly obeyed, or by attacking the other sect, are killed immediately. The EmbraceThe Embrace is what brought you amongst us. It is the gift you were given by another of our kind. It's not that they bit you, you became infected, and you turned into one of us. It's a far darker truth than that simplistic propaganda. One of us bit you, drained you of all your blood, then fed you a little bit of our own blood. At that point, so the story goes, you chose to sell your soul to join our ranks. You sold it for immortality and power, and quite honestly chances are you made a bad deal. Now, vampires don't always drain the blood, in truth you simply need kill them. Some Sires swing a shovel so hard at their future childer as to kill them. At this point they feed the childer the much needed vitae, or blood. The key to the Embrace is that you died, and some lich gave you her blood. Congratulations.

Clans and Disciplines
These are the clans of the Camarilla (the only sect that players may pick), and the powers bestowed upon them due to their blood lines.
Brujah: Known for their short tempers, they are the anarchists. They sometimes have a cause, sometimes not, but they're always passionate. Often they talk about politics, and these talks often lead to "persuasion" equating to bludgeoning each other to pulp. They are the unhappy voice in the Camarilla, trying to make it better than it is.
Potence: Super strength Celerity: Super speed Presence: People pay attention to them when they speak
Malkavian: They are insanity. They are terrifying, and generally frowned down upon in the Camarilla. They are allowed in for fear of what would happen to whoever tried to keep them out. They are jesters, prophets, businessmen, homeless people, they can fulfill just about any position in society, depending on how bad their insanity is.
Dementation: The ability to make others insane, and their ability to be prophetic. Auspex: The ability to heighten senses, see auras, and project the spirit. Obfuscate: The ability to hide in the shadows.
Nosferatu: They were cursed to be ugly. Their flesh is twisted, gnarled, pocked, and festering. They are animals from the sewers, and the spy system without equal. They are hideous intelligence gatherers.
Potence: Super strength Animalism: Ability to communicate, summon, and control animals. Obfuscate: The ability to hide in the shadows.
Toreador:The pretty people in vampiric society. They are artists, designers, models, and a slue of other beautiful things. They are shallow, and though their passions are hallow attempts at humanity, there is no clan which is wrapped in art more clearly. When they see something beautiful, they become entranced, unable to focus on that which is happening around them.
Celerity: Super speed Auspex: The ability to heighten senses, see auras, and project the spirit. Presence: People pay attention to them when they speak
Ventrue: Should the Camarilla be viewed as a company, the Ventrue are the founders and CEOs. They have taken upon themselves the burden of making sure humanity does not know about vampires. When other vampires expose themselves to the world, the Ventrue use their ties to the mortal media, law enforcement, bureaucracy, etc., to maintain the Masquerade. They are the corporate martyrs.
Presence: People pay attention to them when they speak Dominate: The ability to control the actions of people Fortitude: The ability to take more damage, even from sunlight and supernatural attacks

Creating a CharacterPM the following character skeleton to me. I will approve or disapprove the character. If I disapprove I'll make suggestions on how to alter it. Gaia Name: Name: Age: RIP: Clan: Weakness: (this is based on clan. Brujah have a short temper. Malkavians have some sort of derangement, player's choice. Nosferatu are ugly, and cannot appear in front of mortals. Toreador pause to look at anything unusually beautiful. Ventrue can only drink the blood from certain "stock" because they are picky.) Disciplines: (Each Discipline can have five dots total. You get three points to spend in them, and through play you will become more powerful. Write down which abilities you want dots in, it will affect how powerful you are with the Discipline. The clans listed above have a list of three powers. These are the Disciplines you can start with.) Physical Description: (No pictures) Background: (Give a detailed background.) First PostYour first post should explain how you arrived in Las Vegas and you going to meet the Prince. The Prince is in the Mirage. Write out a description of you going to the Mirage. You will not meet the Prince right away, so just arrive. If you do not wish to meet the Prince, explain how you hide. However, know that those who do not present themselves at the Mirage, will likely end up dead.

NPC List
Byron Triton Byron is the Prince of Las Vegas. He's fairly lenient, as far as a Ventrue is concerned. With all of the strange sights in the city, he can allow to give some slack to breaks in the Masquerade.
Byron is an Englishman, and was Embraced some time in the 1700s. He came to the New World to act as a middle man between the New World and his Sire. None know exactly what happened when the Revolution occurred, but when it was over, Byron had struck out on his own, continuously moving east, until he founded Las Vegas using mobsters as pawns.
All who come to Las Vegas are allowed to stay for one week. If any wish to stay longer, he demands they do one task, and in return they may ask of him a favor at a later date. Some people have asked for foolish things, such as a night of free gambling. Others now own large portions of real estate on the Strip because of him.
Byron is an attractive man, with slicked back black hair. He is pale and thin, though his black suit makes him look larger. His voice flows past his lips, and even without the use of his powers he can make people do as he pleases. He is, in short, a charmer and a lady killer, sans the British accent.
Henry Trent A reliable man, he is the Seneschal of Las Vegas. When the Prince leaves the city, or there are small details that need to be looked over, Henry takes care of it. He is also the childer of Byron. Henry is at least 100 years old, but some claim he has been around since 1773, as a rebellion against Byron's Sire.
Henry is rather laid back, and he understands that he will likely never have any true power. He is the voice of the Prince, which allots him some comfort, but to appear too powerful would be to threaten Byron.
Henry has short brown hair, parted to the side. He is a normal sized man, with broad shoulders. He wears a button up shirt of dark colors, not tucked, and black slacks with black shoes. Sometimes he wears glasses, but usually only in front of mortals. This is the first vampire anyone entering Vegas meets knowingly.

PC List
Gaia Name: RisTesla Name: Emily Steinbrach, Littletree Age: 188, appears 15 yrs. old RIP: Mid 1835 Clan: Nosferatu Weakness: Really Ugly Disciplines: Potence:0
Animalism:1 Feral Whispers: You may speak with animals.
Obfuscate:2 Cloak of Shadows: By remaining still and silent, you cannot be seen. Unseen Presence: You can move without being seen. Any interaction with the world around her causes her to become apparent.
Physical Description: Pale beneath the many scars and freckles across her face, like the rest of her body. She walks with a hunch, which makes her seem shorter, and a slight limp in her left leg. Her hair is matted and always damp from traversing the sewers. It's long and dark brown almost black, she keeps most of her hair in her face to hide it when spying on the outside world from the rain gutters and sewer caps. Her fingernails are long, sharp and gritty, same as her toenails. She walks around everywhere barefoot. She has boils randomly placed all over her body. She has a tattoo of a heart over her butt on the left side of her lower back.
Background: Born October 31, 1820 to a whore in one of the many hidden brothels in New York City. She was unwanted, and the date she was born on made everyone believe she was cursed, as well as her dark hair. Her mother left her at a church, the pastor took her in for a little while, she was passed around to many members of the church, but finally left at the Orphanage. She lived there until she was 15, she wanted to go West, but knew the Matron would never let her. She snuck out and stowed away in a trunk that was marked for heading west.
Once on board the covered wagon, she climbed out of the trunk and saw 5 kids looking at her, two boys who were little older than her and two girls and a boy who were years younger. They took her in as her sister and their parents didn't notice another kid in their brood.
The Steinbrach's became her family, the kids named her Emily, after a pet dog they had to leave behind. The Steinbach's older boys were cruel to her, she didn't notice, she felt like she belonged. The boys would cut her with their pocketknives, leaving scars on her body. The boys noticed her tattoo of a heart on her lower back, which resulted in them calling her Tart. She told them how she got it, even though they didn't seem to listen. She said how she snuck out of the orphanage to go get it, and how the Matron never knew about it, and still doesn't. The younger kids didn't know what her new name meant, but called her that anyways.
One night when they were in Nevada, the two boys pushed her out of the wagon while she was sleeping. She rolled down a small thorny hill. She stayed there, sitting and hoping the Steinbrach's would come back for her; they never did. Instead a nearby tribe on Native Americans found her and took her in. The tribe taught her useful things about nature, animals, the stars, fire signals and so much more. She tried hunting with them, got many more cuts from her own arrows on her face because she couldn't use a bow and arrow to well. She didn't like hunting anyways, she didn't like hurting animals, even though they proved useful. She was named Littletree, for they had predicted her long life ahead of her.
About a month into living with the natives, a group of white men who lived in a small town nearby came wiped out their whole tribe, including her. She didn't stay dead, the massacre was all a blur, she couldn't remember anything about it, except a lot of blood. She looked down and noticed blood all over her, which she found surprisingly good.
She hid amongst the wild life, not wanting to come out during the day, for she knew she looked a sight. She stayed with the animals and took of them as they took care of her. She was running with some squirrels and came across a city that she didn't know was there. The sign said Las Vegas, she saw people everywhere, her hair hid her face, she heard people beneath her, calling her to the sewers; which she has yet to leave.

Emily wasn't too sure how she got to where she was now. The roads were paved and tall buildings reached up to the sky, like large lit-up trees. People, mortals, where everywhere; laughing, drinking, smoking, walking around on the sidewalks and even in the streets. She walked along what little shadows she could find; she always preferred walking around at night, the darkness hid her better. The mortals paid no attention to her, she paid little attention to them.
She kept walking and started to hear voices seeping up from the sewers, "Go to the Mirage, visit the Prince..." The kept telling her the same thing over and over. She glanced around at the tall buildings, she saw that one of them was named the Mirage. She headed for it, being intimidated by it's size.
Who's the Prince? Why must she see him? How did she ever get this way? She still wasn't sure, but she did know that she couldn't ever interact with the beautiful mortals. She kept hidden behind her hair, avoiding being touched by them, which was tough, they were everywhere.
She finally came to the Mirage and walked inside the large glass doors and stepped onto the carpet. She looked around, there was too much to take in at once, the carpet, the high ceilings, the uniformed mortals, everyone just walking around, already knowing where to go. She walked to the closest wall, and stood there, wondering if the Prince was there already, maybe he'd be able to see her.
'I'll just stand here, and look until I see someone like me,' she thought to herself as she stood at the wall.
