todays debate is...magic. does it exist, and if it does who should use it, and what should they use it for?
this debate is brought to you by my brain that won't shut down and quixotic virtuoso who mentioned using magic to help her and her classmates during tests.

No, magic does not exist. If it did, no one should be able to use it, for we are capable of doing things on our own. Thats what I think anyway.

Magic... how deep do you want me to get? I'll put it simply. Yes. Magic exists. Be it the magic of life itself, the little magics of friendship, love, devotion... the magic of the imagination, and even the magics that some scoff. Personally, Magic has fantastical allusions that I like to avoid, and have never comfortably called something real 'magic' except in the above examples. But do I believe in what some call magic, others call psionics, and still others call miracles? Yeah, I believe in that too.
Magic, I choose the word for simplicity and point of debate, is just an extenstion of the self in my opinion, and should be used by anyone who feels the desire to use it. Now, as for under what conditions, that's another thing. Using it for malicious intent would be the same thing as going out and physically attempting a malicious act, and thus must be bound by the same rules and laws you put everything else in to. As to the 'whats'. Well, what would you go and spend money on? What would you pray about? What would you seek help with in anything?
It's a hard subject to put hard lines on the fore and aft of, and thus, I can only answer question with question here.
Though, I do wonder, why do you, Karespo, believe that us being able to do certain things by ourselves would make magic, which you're obviously turning into a form of deus ex machina in your mind, something we shouldn't use? It's no different in that case than turning to a god in prayer.

I believe that magic does exist. It should be used by people who know how to use it, and why. They should only use it for the purpose of good. For example, protection, shielding, and practising.

Sandy, I think you're referring to ki, which is spiritual energy, not magic, and that's a whole other debate entirely. :/
