The red merle dog paraded out of her owners office. He had worked for Nasa long ago, but now he was the curator of a find air and space museum. Each day she paraded the halls back and forth. Her favorites were the rooms with the old Gemini replica’s and the pictures of the men who served the county with around them. She sat for hours in there and as each person walked by she barked as if trying to point out all the little details that they were missing. Of course they didn’t understand her, but it made her feel special.

Today though she had decided to make it an early day for herself and after doing her rounds and inspecting all the lovely visitors, she padded outside to see the large scale rockets outside. She sniffed them a few times then kept walking till she was at the gates. Looking around she took a few steps around the gates and began to wander to the far reaches of the parking lot. She knew this way well. It was the way she always went to go home. Though today she wasn’t ‘exactly’ going home- she’d still have to be back to the museum before her owner realized she was gone; but she'd probally make it halfway there. It was like something odd had told her that this had just been the right moment to leave…like something exciting was going to happen. She just didn't know what.
