I usually like to rant, and this is no exception. In Super Smash Brothers Melee, Mewtwo debuted as the second to last character and fourth pokemon in the series of Super Smash Brothers.

He fought with mainly shadow based attacks, and a few weak, but still useful psychic attacks, and was great with especially with grabs.

Lucario though was a character that was encountered in Brawl standing on the peak of an iceberd mediating calmy. The Aura pokemon joined the fight in place of Mewtwo in Super Smash Brothers Brawl with the common classification to be an accurate replacement of Mewtwo.

If you've ever heard this rumour, IT'S NOT TRUE!

I can list you plenty of differences...

1. Some of Mewtwo's attacks stun, or paralyze momentarily the attacks of an opponent, while Lucario's move all must be absolutely physical one way or another.

2. Mewtwo's teleport is a little harder to control, and quicker to manage while Lucario's Extreemespeed may seem a little easier to control, but it is definitely a little more accurate. Mewtwo's teleport can make up for being extremely predictable. If you want to know something else funny, Extreeme Speed (Which is the enhanced Quick Attack in the pokemon game itself) doesn't even deal damage, if it does, it's very minor.

3. Mewtwo's Jump is clearly much much much much better, just more awkward looking.

4. Mewtwo has amazing grabs, if he grabs almost any character at 80 to 115 damage, any grab directed up delivered by him is almost always an assured K.O. Sometimes he can blast back as well with amazing power. Lucario's only does well if he himself has very high damage as well as his opponent.

5. Unless you have high damage as Lucario, killing people take forever! Although his kicks are stronger up and down, Mewtwo strikes harder at the tip of his tail with also keeps opponents from quickly falling to his level and attacking, and his lower kick timed just right is an amazing meteor smash, or slam, trust me.

6. Shadow ball staggers up and down as it proceeds, Aura Sphere goes straight but can get larger and move a little further.

7. Mewtwo's lower Smash concentrates full power to an opponents lower body, while Lucario splits the attack to smash in both directions surrounding him.

8. Mewtwo is very light, Lucario is slightly heavier.

9. Mewtwo can have awesome combos with his basic Tail Attacks, Lucario though has limited combo unless your fighting a stupid, or challenged opponent.

10. Mewtwo stuns, Lucario Counters. Which if you see it coming can be evaded quickly or guarded.

11. To use Mewtwo effectively fight defensively, to use Lucario well, fight a bit more of on the offense.

12. Mewtwos standard A becomes a condeming attack, while Lucario's is a three part combo, third possibly can be linked to force palm. (He grabs the opponent after attacking with his other hand, holds them in place then releases the palm attack, it does better damage and knockback when used in close to them.)

13. Mewtwo's a bit faster than Lucario.

14. Mewtwo is weak used the wrong way, you're either good with him, or really bad with him and most people are really bad with him. Lucario though becomes the tough that gets going when the going gets tough.

15. Mewtwo's much better with weopons.

Few things they have in commong include the fact that they walk, or rather standardly move at somewhat the same speed, they seem to have nearly the same side smash, they both throw balls of energy (Although Mewtwo's was flawed because ghost should attack normal type pokemon, think about that.) They have an alright sense of distance.

To tell the truth I prefer Mewtwo, but oh well.

Well, I can use Lucario without wanting to kill someone, so I like him better.

I'll admit, I'm a bit neutral about this; I think Lucario looks cooler, but as far as playing goes, I'm not all that great with either character. It would've been interesting to see what Mewtwo's final smash might have been, though.

By the way. Your dedication to/skill with strategy and detailed analysis in this game series, as shown by your post and other conversations we've had privately, is very commendable.
