Don't worry. I'm sure hypno will fix it soon. ^_^

I personally am a Seiken Densetsu and Soul Blazer girl myself...

I can't put them in order...
Bust-A-Move
Donkey Kong
Legend of Zelda
Pokemon
Puyo Pop Fever
SNK fighter series (like Art of Fighting, Fatal Fury, King of Fighters)
Soul Blade/Soul Calibur
Street Fighter
Tetris
most tempo games (like beatmania, Dance Dance Revolution, Dancemania, Guitar Hero, Rock Band)

I also like the Sakura Taisen (Sakura Wars) series, but I haven't played the games. I've only seen the anime OVAs... (which I like <3).

He-he, yeah. I'm the guild's fixer upper, ha-ha! lol

Ok, I gotta say that out of those our host listed, I like quite a few of them myself. Let's see...

Mega Man (Capcom) I only played one of them and I didn't like it. It was tougher than Simon's Quest and it wasn't very fun for me either.

Legend of Zelda (Nintendo) This is one of those I like a lot. Though there have been a few games that have frustrated the heck out of me like Zelda 2, the "Oracle" games and Majora's Mask.

Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega) Never played any of them...

Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo) I loved SMB3 and Super Mario World.

Metal Slug (SNK) Never played any of them either...

Marvel vs. Capcom (Capcom) I think I tried one but fighting games are not my forte.

Turrican (Factor 5) Huh? I gotta say, Factor 5 is not so great at game making. They made all the Rogue Squadron games waaay too tough for my taste.

Contra (Konami) Only played the first one and possibly the second one and liked them.

Metal Gear Solid (Konami) Barely tried the one for the PS1...

NiGHTS (Sega) No idea what this one's about...

Other than those, I also like Resident Evil even though I've only played the remake for DS and I also like the mana series even though I loved Legend of Mana and only mildly enjoyed Sword of Mana.

Oh, I also like Metroid!I have Fusion, Zero Mission (my personal favorite) and Prime 1. 3nodding

Now then, when it comes to the other games... I must say that I've never heard about Soul Blazer girl. Seiken Densetsu sounds familiar though...

I've never played games like bust a move, or dancing games. Dancing is not my thing. Especially not by myself!
I am not a fan of Donkey Kong games. I hated the ones on the arcades cuz I never got far on them. I tried the first one on N64 and i ended up hating it cuz you had to get some kind of coin from a stupid arcade within the game and since I am no good at those, well... stressed
And out of the fighting games SoraMee listed, I only played Street Fighter 2 and the "Super" edition. I never got the chance to play any of the SNK ones at all. Sad, eh? rolleyes

Oh and I hate Tetris type games. I guess I ain't smart enough for them cuz they bore the heck out of me! stare

I would say:
Ys (You are really old school if you know of this series)
Splatterhouse (we got a new one coming up for the next gen series)
Disgaea (and the other Nippon Ichi strategy RPGs)
Shinobi (I can safely say I like all of them)
Valis (Yes I'm aware the latest game is an Hentai game but remember it was once a regular series rofl )
Kunio-kun games (Includes River City Ransom, and other Super Dodgeball)
Double Dragon (including Rage of the Dragons, we all know it was a DD game, they just had to change stuff around for some reason)
Women's Wrestling (not really a series but a sub-genre, I own quite a few way before Rumble Roses razz )
Megaman (Regular and X, I dont much care for the other ones)
Legend of Zelda
Street Fighter
SNK Fighters
There's more but trying to keep my list short and sweet 3nodding Oh and dragontamer, you like Turrican? I didn't think people remembered that series o_O I've played the ones for Genesis and SNES surprised

Yep, I know and actually like Turrican... I like the fact that it has Run and Gun elements. But I've played "Mega Turrican" on Sega Genesis... I'd like to see Super Turrican 1 & 2 someday.

And yes, Splatterhouse next gen looked awesome.

Hmm, I only remember hearing about Super Turrican. I think that one was for the SNES... Did I miss anything good?

Thanks SoraMee, no wonder it sounded familiar, duh! Ha-ha! Oh boy... rolleyes

Yes, Super Turrican is for Super Nintendo, but its also re-released on the Virtual Console.

Well, if you like "Run and Gun" games like I do such as "Contra" or "Metal Slug" and are looking for something different, and have not seen or played "Super Turrican" (Super Nintendo) or "Mega Turrican" (Sega Genesis)... then apparently you're pretty much missing out.

Attention all "Nintendo Wii" owners and "Run and Gun Genre" players alike... All 3 of the Turrican games of the 16-Bit Era are now re-released and ready for download...

Super Turrican 2 (Super NES page) 800 Wii Points
Mega Turrican (Sega Genesis page) 800 Wii Points

I'm surprise the only horror series mentioned is Resident Evil. I expected other horror/survival- games to be listed, as Castlevania is sometimes categorized as horror (though it's not ^.^; ).
PostPosted: Mon Jan 05, 2009 2:57 pm

Thanks for the info tamer of dragons. mrgreen
I had no idea that the Turrican games were kinda like Contra. I did try a couple of those. I only managed to finish the first thanks to the cheat code for extra lives, he-he.

SoraMee is right. CV should not be in the horror genre and I'm surprised some people consider it as such. Maybe the ones that have only played the games for N64 could fit it on that genre...
I still haven't played any horror games aside from RE: DS. I'd like to play others such as Alone in the Dark. I hear the new version for all the current generation of consoles will be pretty good.

Too many to count. Sadly most of them are dying/dead. Particularly Tenchi, Suikoden and Silent Hill. Resident Evil's plot was killed with 4 (still fun as hell at least), and the rest may die with RE5 (but you tell that to an RE newby and they'll go apeshit on you). Could go either way.

The surviving franchises I still have faith and fiend over in are MGS (as ridiculous as it can be), and Zelda.

There Soramee I mentioned Silent Hill razz Another Horror franchise. Though you wouldn't know it if you played Homecoming sad

You know Shi, I'm a RE newbie and I don't go ape$hit on you for saying that. rolleyes
Maybe it's cuz I've only played the first one, don't know...

Hey Shi! Have you finished Phantom Hourglass?

Yeah, I just mean the people that jumped on board at RE4. Although surprisingly I've heard some negative reactions for the RE5 demo (some good too obviously but I had no idea there'd be so much bad). So that saying about going apeshit seems to be full of it.

Nope. Phantom Hourglass I have yet to finish. Although I haven't finished a handheld Zelda since Oracle of Seasons. I like them, but once I get out of the zone I find it hard to re-enter.
