(Okay, so you all know I like food by the food topics found here biggrin )

How about Japanese food? Anyone ever try any?
I went to a Japanese restaurant the other day with some friends. I know I don't like sushi, so I tried the teriyaki chicken obento, which was a dinner meal. It came with the teriyaki chicken and rice, which wasn't bad, and tempura, which was a batter they use on vegetables and such. There was shrimp, broccoli, sweet potato and I think it was squash in tempura batter - and it was good!~
We also had udon noodles, miso soup, and ice cream. The ice cream is something to talk about. I don't know about other Japanese restaurants, or what they actually serve in Japan, but there were three flavours to choose from that came with the meal. Black Sesame Seed, Ginger, and Red Bean.
What weird flavours! I tried a bit of each - It seems a lot of people like the sesame seed, but I don't like it. The ginger was spicy - who ever heard of spicy ice cream?! - and it was pretty good. The best was the red bean. It was sweet and yummy.

So has anyone else tried fun Japanese food? What did you eat? How was it?
